Someone suggested it in another thread, most of the fitting guides are for pvp or higher level pve stuff. The starter builds are ignored, the injustice!

I'm not expert on anything that isnt Gallente so i'll let other people fill out those section :D heres a guide to gallente starter ships. For those suggesting fits please base it on a player with 0 skills, posting a setup that requires engineering 5 just isnt going to be useful :v

If you could post reasons why you chose the modules that would also be a great help to people who want to tweak with the setups when getting better skills for better modules.

Drone Ship (For those that have the special ops starter package): Imicus
Low:
Small Armor Repairer I - Gallente armour tank so it is more useful to train armour skills instead of shields
Capacitor Power Relay I - Armour repair systems use a lot of capacitor alongside your guns

Mid:
1MN Afterburner I - To be able to get away from a dangerous situation, dont have it permenantly running
Capacitor Recharger I - Like the CPR above you need all the capacitor regen you can get!

High:
75mm Gatling Rail I - Lead Charge - These are the largest you can fit within the power requirements.
75mm Gatling Rail I - Lead Charge

Drone Bay:
Hobgoblin I - You can fit 3 of these (highest damage light drone) to this frigate which makes you immensely powerful starting out :D
Hobgoblin I
Hobgoblin I
--------------------

Hybrid Frigate (Those with good starting Gunnery skills): Incursus
Low:
Small Armor Repairer I - Gallente so armour tanking ahoy
Energized Adaptive Nano I - This makes your armour a bit more resistant to all kinds of damage, this is a good thing :awesome:

Mid:
1MN Afterburner I - You need to get orbiting your target pretty quick
Micro Ld-Acid Capacitor Battery I - When you have some power left over these actually work better than a Cap Recharger for your cap recharge time!
Micro Ld-Acid Capacitor Battery I

High:
75mm Gatling Rail I - Thorium Charge - Again, due to no skills in engineering you need to use 75mm's to start with, 125mm with skills.
75mm Gatling Rail I - Thorium Charge
75mm Gatling Rail I - Thorium Charge

Drones:
Hobgoblin I
-----------------------

Daddy Frigate - The powerhouse (For those with some missile skills too): Tristan //Disclaimer - I never used one of these for pve and without skills its a pain to set up in some ways, this seems alright though...

Low:
Small Armor Repairer I - Gallente armor tank!
50mm Reinforced Steel Plates I - Provides more armour to give you a bigger buffer zone before death
Triple-Sheathed Adaptive Nano Plating I - Like the EANM above though this version does not provide as much protection but takes a LOT less to fit (no cpu 1 power)

Mid:
1MN Afterburner I - Speed
Micro Ld-Acid Capacitor Battery I - Had some power left over to upped a Cap Recharger to a battery
Capacitor Recharger I - Not enough power for 2 batteries

High:
75mm Gatling Rail I - Antimatter Charge - Short range just like the rockets
75mm Gatling Rail I - Antimatter Charge
Rocket Launcher I - Rockets all do the same damage, just different types
Rocket Launcher I - Rockets all do the same damage, just different types

Drones:
Hobgoblin I
-------------------------

The other frigates dont stand out as much as a good combat vessel, the Atron isnt bad as such but the rest i think are better.

If anyone has any comments/criticisms please do tell and we can modify the setups to make them better, remember though this is a setup that requires no fitting skills, just the skills required to use the module. In the real world people may well have the skills required to fit bigger guns etc but not everyone will so people can take this post as a basis and modify from there. For the most part this is just for information though, enjoy :v

/edit - I also forgot to mention, all of the above builds are designed to get you going in your first missions, not to go blow up some evul pirates! Pvp fittings are also welcome though as long as they dont require days and days of skill training :D

Thrud's Newbie PvE Merlin

Hi
2 X 125mm Railgun
2 X Rocket Launchers

Mid
1 x small shield booster
1 x small shield extender
1 x Afterburner
1 x cap recharger

Low
2 x power diagnostic system

Change Rocket launchers for standard launchers ASAP. To help fitting you could use MAPC (Micro Auxillary Power Core) or RCU (Reactor Control Unit) but the Power Diagnostic System is great for Caldari.

Newbie MWD Merlin
Hi
2x 125mm Railgun (Antimatter Charge S)
2x Rocket Launcher (foxfire rockets)
Mid
1x 1MN MicroWarp Drive
1x Stasis Webifier
1x Warp Disruptor
1x Cap Recharger
Low
1x Capacitor Power Relay
1x Overdrive Injector System

Use the Microwarpdrive to get within 10km, use the Warp Disruptor and Stasis Webifier to pin your target down, orbit at 5km, and turn off your Microwarpdrive. If you leave it on too long you will run out of power. The reason you orbit at 5km is that this will keep you out of Smartbomb range while still letting you use your Stasis Web. If you find your target is still able to hit you, you can risk the Smartbomb and try orbiting closer.

This is a PvP fit, but simple to adapt for PvE by switching the MWD and Disruptor for an AB and Shield Extender.

Basic mission running Punisher
High
3x Dual Light Beam Laser with Multifrequency/Ultraviolet for short range, Microwave for long range.
Medium
1x 1MN Afterburner
1x Stasis Webifier
Low
1x Small Armor Repairer
1x 200mm Reinforced Plate
2x Capacitor Power Relay

Basic PvP Rifter
High
3x 200mm AutoCannons
1x Rocket Launcher (or a salvager module for cleaning up battlefields)
Mid
1mn MWD
Warp Disruptor I
Stasis Webifier I
Low
3x Capacitor Power Relay I / 3x Overdrive Injectors or a combination of any of the aforementioned modules

Tackle outside web and smartbomb range (orbit at 12 km for a tackle, 7 or so for webbing).

For PvE, switch MWD for AB and any low slots for Small Armour Rep + 200/400mm Rolled Tungsten Plate (if you can fit one)

Although Thrud, putting tech2 items on a one day old char's ship setup isnt gonna help all that much ;)

Read post to end for all the information :fist:

Still, lets keep it simple... you just don't like the fact that mine is a superior PVE fit :)

And your low slots don't make sense for a Caldari mission runner.

:D:

Is it worth putting Destroyer fittings on here?

No, because Destroyers are terrible until you can T2 fit them and even then they're not great.

I had a lot of success with them in LVL 1 missions....so, if you are interested and fancy using 8 Hi Slots early on....

Newbie Cormorant

Lows
Reactor Control Unit I

Mids
Cap Recharger I
Small Shield Extender I
Small Shield Booster I
1MN Afterburner I

125mm Railgun I
125mm Railgun I

Ammo wise, go for what you prefer, keeping range is not a bad idea as this ship has very little tank. BUT don't mix ranges, it's just not worth it!
Oh, and don't be tempted to take this into Level 2 missions, you will die!
The Destroyer also makes an excellent Looter / Salvager.

Frigate thread, FRIGATE THREAD! It says it like right at the top there.

Also its far more useful to train for cruisers than destroyers. Destroyer training leads you nowhere as a newbie.

1 million isk, 8 high slots, fun for level 1 missions.

Thanks Anim, I've been struggling along as a Gallente and refuse to change race just because of a lack of specific guides. :)
