View Full Version : New to EVE? Chuck me a convo :) (offer)

Ok, so recently theres been a large influx of new folks in the #MPUK channel ingame and Id jsut like to offer those new folks some help :)
Learning skills in eve are a unfortunate evil but very helpful for speeding up your training times. But who wants to be sat in the station training those for several weeks before getting out there and blowing stuff up?
hence im offering anyone who is form these forums and in the mpuk channel ingame a free set of +3 implants which will help you learn your skills a bunch faster, All you need to do is learn science to level 3 and cybernetics to level 1, which should take max half a day at a guess.
After youve done that just convo me ingame under the name "Grimveous" or "Rivka Kuzniar" (rivka is in the mpuk corp with whiteknight) and il get to work on sorting you out with the impants.

Hold on hold on, do this AFTER stratlan, because thats going to be a lot of dead clones. Hopefully people will be able to set up some jumpclones somewhere (I'll speak to my contacts ;)) over the weekend as well, so they can have a disposable clone and an implant clone on the go.

They can keep hold of them, just plugging them in at this stage may be a little unwise :p

Extraordinarily generous of you. This could get expensive... Are you manufacturing them or something???

Currently a full set of +3`s will set you back about 45mil so yes that's very generous. He is, however, a veteran player and probably has billions in cash just lying around.
That said, i`ll have a set for my alt if you have any going :D

Aye they cost a bit, but thankfully a loot a fair few from nublars who transport thema round, and I kill them, and pillage and reape there warez :)
Also been in game sine release heh so got a bit of moolah stacked up with not much to do with it :)

Thank you Grom. I have no idea what these do, but I just trained up those very skills to use some basic (I think level 1???) implant last week.

Implants increase your basic character statistics (intelligence, perception etc). Those stats are used to calculate how fast you can train skills. So the higher your stats, the faster you train. +3 to your stats gives you approx 4.5 skill points per minute EXTRA on top of your current training speed.
Basically skill training speed is "100% of the primary stat + 50% of the secondary stat, per minute"....
So for navigation for example, thats Intelligence, and perception. My alt has an intelligence of 12.48 and a perception of 8.32. So currently i will get 16.64 skill points per minute or 998 per hour. That works out to 10 days worth of training to learn all levels (altho as it happens i already have it at Level 5).
If i were to get a full set of +3s on that character, that would be reduced to 8.4 days.

you fail. Surely if you are always being blown up, having implants is a bad thing ?

Hi
I'm new to EvE. Im trying to get going using my current character to do almost every mission other than fighting. Im trying to build up massive levels of intelligence and funds as quickly as possable to then give a new character a large level of resources and create the biggest baddest hardest mercinary in the entire world of EvE.
I am training the skills required to use them now and should have them fully trained and available to use in about three hours.
If you could extend me this offer, I would be extremely grateful and once I make up the funds / resources I could owe you a big favour :)
Thanks

I also do have the required areas already as i had some lvl1 implants but wasn't going to use them till after slan, But if you do still have some i would be most appreciative as i deffinatly want to keep playing EVE it has somewhat grabbed me.

given that a large number of people got WTFP0wned on Saturday night on a mad charge through 0.0, these are really going to be in demand.

Well with slan over and done with i think the distribution of implants can now begin :)
Everyone needs to learn Infomorph Psychology tho. So you can jump clone. Dont PvP with implants in people.

The same week in which I start, free stuff this way comes. :v
Think I might of already asked you before in-game, but again - if I enjoy it enough to still be playing in a week or two's time, I'd love to have some of these newbie implants.
That's once I've got myself more clones and the like. :awesome:
