After getting inspiration from cp_skyscraper I decided to make my own map, I think it looks aesthetically better than skyscraper and is quite a good challenge for many people who enjoy jump maps. Also there are a variety of different routes so every time is different! Also I made it so it would allow new jumpers to at least make some progress in the map but not make it too easy in the later stages because otherwise it could become boring. I also added some deatiles in like pillars and support columns to make it slightly more realistic. Anyway here are some screenshots of the current beta:

Also I think that pink and black water cubemap is caused by me alt tabbing because it only happens sometimes.

If you are interested I can get a download link for you guys to try it out and see if you have any suggestions for it!

I'm away from home at the moment so it's a bit tricky for me to do stuff on this flaky connection so I've asked BeastZomb if he'd mind sorting this out, hopefully get it on its own server tomorrow.

Thanks guys, again all feedback is appreciated. I personally think it is a little too dark but that is the only thing I can think of at the moment.

OK after some testing with some people I have come up with the following TODO list:

> fix crack on blue cap point. DONE!

> Make the control points take 10 minutes to capture. (if someone really wants to ruin everyones fun then they can if they want! (just an idea)) - Not Done

> Create a new route - DONE!

> New section - Not Done.

> Make cap area taller - DONE!

> Hall of fame - Not Done

Just an idea, at the top, instead of a sheet of glass, you could put a no clip, that would stop players crossing over and jumping down to kill plls on the other team, but will still let people at the top shoot each other if they want.
Something like this.

What I will probably do is have a team barrier on the little hole so players from the wrong team can't get into the other maze.

And remove the glass up there completely.

If you remove it completely, the enemy demos gonna put stickys arround the enemy hole so its not possible to get up there anymore :s

Played it for the first time tonight and its fun, perhaps more so than skyscraper (no disrespect to its maker ofcourse).

I can put bullet clip brushes around that area to stop the urge to kill people from the opposite team.

Yeah thats a nice idea to prevent em from straight killing players who get to the top!

I like that map because the room is bigger than skyscrapers and that let you choose between several ways to get to the top. Was great fun to push John up there yesterday evening =)

_b2 version had a load of missing textures for me while _b1 did not.

The only missing texture was the cubemap on the water and that shouldn't make it unplayable. But everyone seems to have buggered off from the server so I guess it is annoying people. I will release a small fix as soon as I have polished up some other things.

Nah mate thats not what was on my screen I had almost everything as missing.

The water and all of the walkways were missing with me. Ironically however the other team I could see all their stuff a-ok.

That could have been a problem when the map loaded did you try and re join? Also I am working on a fix for all those issues raised above should be out today.

ok beta3 should fix all the above issues. But here is a change log:

> Tweaked some routes and platforms.

> Allowed people at the top to get to the other side by removing the glass.

> FIXED CUBEMAPS.

> Added hazard strips to show the capture zone.

> Added an invisible barrier to the opposite team so people a the top can't get down to the other teams actual climbing area but they can go to the opposite CP. (hard to explain)

I apologize for the people constantly updating the map on the server I think this should be the last beta until I release a version 1 and updates shouldn't be that often after that!

hmm... Try reinstalling the map and removing all the other betas. If that fails it could be one of your textures exploding maybe reinstall TF2? OR Type build cubemaps in the console and restart TF2 then play the map again.

Edit:

I think I can fix the walls as soon as I get confirmation from you Maddin. Exactly where is the missing texture because I think it could be from a custom map that only some people have or mabye from a game. Iwill have another look and change the offending texture for you :D Please don't upload beta3 until I can get this fixed!

lol but other people were getting the problem so I guess that particular texture was a bit dodgey so I won't be using it again!

ok Beta4 is up (I like releasing things)

same as beta3 really but fixed the floating medi pack and hopefully the missing textures that some people get. Also fixed the "<team name> has reached the final stretch!" message to work with both teams. Also tweaked some paths a bit more!

I think you do "startmovie moviename avi"

Select a codec.

then do "startdemos demoname"

then "endmovie" when it is done.

you have to be in windowed mode.

b4 version of the map is now live on server #12 - 85.236.100.246:27415 and it appears to fix the problems of the earlier versions. Good work conman. :)

Thanks! The server seems a bit 'fuller' now that it is all fixed. Also people seem to be enjoying the challenging final stretch. Hopefully I can keep expanding it or maybe different stages (like dustbowl)

Engineer + Medic combo. However I am going to remove the ability to build on the very top or not allowed to build on the other teams top bit because people set up sentries making it impossible for anyone on the other team to get up :mad:

Also working on making the top room a bit more interesting. Perhaps a final neutral control point? That is only accessible once you have captured the opposite teams control point (as usual) I have an idea on how to get to the final CP maybe a huge downhill track that has lots of obstacles I think that sounds quite fun hurtling down :D Also having jumps and bits that are higher so you have to time when to shoot right. Think of it as a downhill jump map :awesome:

You can do it if you have 2 medics the func_nobuild brush isn't very high and if you get past it you can build again.

Haha thats pretty funny :D

Also development of the map should take less time now and I can finally compile with normal Vis rather than fast so it should look better because I have a new PC. New update coming soon!
