CTF only server?

Here's the thing, some players on CTF 1 SLV server actually don't really care for SLVs and (correct me if I'm wrong ) there is no normal non-SLV CTF server ( CTF #4 being apparently offline and CnG having "special" maps).

So my suggestion was to turn one of the two SLV servers into a normal CTF server with according maps, and on the other one putting big large SLV friendly maps, with lots of space to fly around in.

We would then have two servers with different maps and different game styles so whoever want's whatever can have it.

( could an admin turn this into a poll please question being, CTF-1 into a non SLV server or not )

No - it will die - CTF4 never took off as people just didnt want to play it

i agree with drummer on this one , a non slv server would be great with LE maps, slv kind of kills ctf

slv killed the whole ctf concept theres just not much team play involved anymore, its easy enough to hope on an slv boost then cap but tryin to walk is much more fun

My problem is I've had a CTF server up for 2 year and it never got used, there wasnt even enough connections to it to justify trying to revamp it, the 2 SLV servers are used, if I close one of them then our overall player count drops.

If I get assurances that the server will be as busy as the SLV ones I will revamp CTF4, however it wont be at the cost of CTF1 which is regularly full.

you are correct neo in saything that allot of people probs wont use the non slv server and would rather play the slv servers but would be good if there was a mixed server

My plan is ideal and im sure it will work.....like i experienced in PURE servers.

They have popular Sniper or Instagit servers that run with lots of players less laggy (graphics and server wise) it's fantastic and best way to get your accuracy and speed into gear. I think non-relic server of Sniper or Insta would work if Multiplay can host a public one with more than 24 players allowed to enter 12 each side is brillant.....

Multiplay had a sniper server, but often the only players there were some of the admins :(: so it went.

Crap n Ghey was a good solution IMO.
DM and CTF maps, a little something for everyone. Sure some of the maps were ghey.....but that was the idea. CTF maps like Piano Lounge and 5 bridges worked awesome if you had four a side or more. I'm on DM2 most nights because it almost always has players and the maps are good too.
NEO kindly gave me clanforge access but with UT3 and work commitments I just haven't got round to uploading some goodies from the DVD Erotic Sludge sent me.

Yup its a pity all these non-SLV CTF lovers didnt use the Crap n Ghey server a lot more!! Before MPUK replaced the Truff servers, CnG was always as busy as the Truff BnS (SLV) server. But sadly CnG died, yet SLV lives on :( :(

Easily CnG was my fave server at the time...much more fun and frantic than the regular Open CTF server. But as an MPUK server no-one visited anymore, never worked that one out.
