I was in UT on relic server today asking Laup something.....

Then he gives me the **** answer that i am lame cause i abuse weaker players...Give me a reason why u say **** like that to me?
I never abuse weaker players.

Otherwise u can just keep your mouth shut iff u cant answer questions.

Gets me angry when i get answers like that from a admin and he wont tell my why he says things like that to me.

I am sorry you are so offended. I apologise.

If I recall, you were asking why we allowed so many "lame" players onto the servers.

My response, meant mostly in jest - but with a serious point was "so you can play" or something similar.

The serious point was that I do believe it is "lame" to be rude about the other players, regardless of their skill. They would find this offensive and therefore your comments were not in keeping with the spirit of play on the servers. Hence, my need to intervene.

The fact that you are now upset because I reflected the label back at you makes my point, I think.

In any case, I was merely reflecting the point back to you and, as I said later to you in the game, this was was not a reflection of your skill but rather your attitide.

I'm sorry it has caused you so much distress. I did not kick you or ban you. I did not think it was a huge issue. Please come back to the server soon - you are still welcome.

My view...

Well, skimming through the chatlog I certainly get the impression you came in looking for trouble. Laup tried ignoring your leading question and when it was clear you were going to keep spamming it over and over, he tried to defuse the situation with a joke. You were so keen to take offence at that point that you took umbrage.

I can't even see why you're angry at an admin for allowing a player to leave the game. Why is that grounds to ban somebody? Staying around and being a nuisance is far more disruptive to a server.

I'm not the only one to have huge respect for the way Laup admins a server and you won't find many people who share your view.

And tip: Telling our admins to keep their mouths shut is really not going to do you any favours.

Hi, 'Srat!!! I think he's talking about when a player leaves before his team loses - I see a lot of players doing that again now that stats are up.

Old_Man is a really good player. That being said, I've never seen him be anything less than abusive towards everyone. He can't play as a team player or even take compliment without being arrogant. I have often left the servers when he comes on simply because I don't want to play with him. I recently took a sabbatical away from UT99, and coming back I was hoping his kind had moved on.

My definition off a player who is 1 off the better ones who plays there....Iff he never even teams and always..yes always leave weaker players by they self when he is in the loosing team.
And all who plays there a bit knows he always does the same.
Sometimes ppl lay joke bets on how many minutes he will stay when hes team are 1 flag after the other...

He always does the same thing..and that is just ok?

But iff u get angry sometime the u get kicked or banned? lol ok then...

I'm sorry, but I can't help myself from wonder, are you aware that it's not uncommon to just play a game with some great people and just enjoy yourself? I personally don't even know what stats are, nor am I interested in finding out. I'm not saying you're a bad old man, I'm just saying that I think it would be a nice thought to lay more focus on the nice people that also occupy the servers and who make the games fun. It's the same with friends and/or family, you'll always have those who you can't count on, but on the other hand you'll always have the die hards that stick to the end, but while everyone is together you always have fun. It's just the way things are.

And again....I have no probs with Laup this was just a question i wanted to have a answer to. Laup is trying hes best when he plays to get teams even and he is giving good answer mostly :D: when he is asked.
