Just wow, i really really like this. :D

Turn off the TC and ABS and it turns into a much better racer. Leave SM on for rear or four wheeled drives, as if you put alot of grip and downforce to the front of the car; You can take corners faster, just barrel into them with the markers being red :V: And the SM will take care of the rest. Kinda like a backup for those nasty german hairpins.

Graphically; the damage and the smoke are simply outstanding.
But with the damage, i haven't noticed a slowdown if you do actually have a damaged car.

One tip, Don't sell the drag car that you get early on. You'll get ****ed for it later unless you get a free car marker or something.

I'm currently driving an RX8 with 513bhp for the grip races, and it's pretty much the fastest car on the track apart from in hairpin bends, which are a bitch.

i really like it and i agree on it being a better game without aids (what the hell is SM?) but i suppose you have to cater for hte chavs somehow. only thing i dont like is the lack of clutch in all other racing modes then Drag (which is miles more fun now then previous games.), the lack of a rear view mirror and the force feedback on my g25 feels a little "meh"

currently driving a subaru impreza here, oh and what a banging soundtrack!

Stability management, basically stops you from spinning out.
I have my car setup for loads of oversteer at higher speeds. SM helps at the lower speeds more i feel. As a rear wheel drive with a slack behind is a little dodgy :D

It's ok... I've played 4 or 5 'events' so far.
It's a little easy, but then all NFS games start hiddeously easy, so I guess that should be catered for soon.
The drags I find a little boring, but still better than the 'memorise which lane to be in' drags on the previous one. You need to be able to skip more of the CAMERA-SPINNING-AROUND-THE-CAR views before/after races.

Graphically it's great, car damage at last, I guess all the car makers agreed huh? (read: EA finally wrote a damage model and stopped using that stupid excuse).

I don't like the MC guy repeating the same thing every 5 seconds and I miss point-to-point races (although they may in there later?).

There should be a filter in the car lot to for 'show me only cars I can afford right now', or display them all as a table to save me going through each one. I don't care what cars look like, I want to buy them based on their stats which annoyingly only show 3/6 at a time.

Apart from that, it seems ok for now.

It starts to get harder and money gets tighter... I've entered and won every raceday (individual race) so far, and now i've pretty much hit a barrier. My drag car has had no attention paid to it, i have no money and its about 3 seconds slower than all the other cars. Kinda annoying.

Well, there's only one way to go with Drag, and thats american muscle pretty much.
Hemi Cuda, or the Camero SS pretty much.
My hemi does 0 - 60 in about 1.7 seconds, and pushes 200mph at the end of the 1/4 mile.
You just have to put all the gear ratios all the way to the right otherwise the engine kinda overtakes the gearbox and you can't help but redline all the way down the track in each gear.
Another reason for this, is the wheelie competitions. Rear wheel drive is the only car you can wheelie in. With the hemi and all the gear ratios all far right, it doesn't wheelie. But just use some nitrous on the start line and you can pretty much wheelie down the whole track...

In drift, its ultimately pointless upgrading your car seeing as if you do go too fast, you're off the track... So just put some decent brakes on and decent tires, you'll be fine.

EDIT - Scrap the drag bit.
The cuda's slow compared to the supra. Pushing 1000bhp and 1/2 mile times of 11 seconds and alot more controllable gear shifting.
Also, it seems that the 1/2 mile top speed is limited to 250mph :P Otherwise the supra would keep on going...

power upgrades in drift do work but require some carefull and clever footwork to make work right, i need to really sit down with drift and build a blueprint for it :/

I've got a supra built for speedway but i think i'll shift the profile over to drag intsead, the camero SS aint cutting it no more oh and wtf is with your avatar no_friends?
