With permission from Neophyte we're allowed to run a normal weapons (no-slv) 2v2 CTF-w00tabulous tournament for MPUK / UT players and their friends/family/pets etc!

Molella randomly picked the teams from a hat.. well torn up pieces of paper n some sort of tub :v and placed us into 2 groups:

Each team will play all other teams in their group once - it will be set to sudden death so there must be a winner mwhaha - you gain 1 point for a win, 0 for a loss - the winner of both groups will go through to play in the final - Yeehaw!

On a serious note: deliberate sustained spawnkilling would take all the fun out of this competition and I for one won't sit by and tolerate it, so before you embark on cheating your way to a win consider how your teammate will fare on their own. :mad:

I know for a fact that the likelihood of some to spawnkill their way through the whole thing has put off at least 1 keen player.

I tend to agree with Pil n Playful. As even if all players are available on Monday and Tuesday, it's gonna be hard to fit 16 matches in total over 2 evenings...and that's not including the final!

I'm assuming each game/match will need up to 30mins. So probs we could fit all the Group 1 games on these days, i.e 5 on both evenings. Then schedule all the Group 2 games later in the week perhaps?

Whatever, it was an enjoyable game. I managed to get a couple of frags right near the beginning while defending the base, and M4rdy managed an early cap, so I was thinking to myself, "Oh, perhaps we might do okay." Then all hell broke lose! Every shock-combo battle I had with Flash I lost, every cap I tried I got wasted, every rocket I fired missed the target by a mile, and Flash and Batty definitely took control, with cap after cap after cap. Well played you two...I definitely need some practise. :D:

Okay, seems to be confusing some already...

W00t server is on Pure's warmup mode.

This means gravity is wrong (normal, not hardcore) and weapon damage is nil.

Tournament mode is ON, which means all players will need to be on server and have clicked "Ready" before the game starts. Warmup allows folks to practice before then. Once everyone's clicked, countdown starts and game starts proper - with hardcore mode and weapon damage on.

Also: there's a repbot on quakenet.

Tell me about it!! But I wouldn't want them to relax in that situation to be honest. In a normal game, yes, perhaps slowing down a bit to make it more enjoyable for all is the sporting way, but in a competition situation I think it would be patronising to suicide or take it easy...in fact a couple of times I'm sure one of them did stand still and wave and let me frag them, and it lowered my respect for them! :p

In all seriousness, Drummer and Duffy are just so far ahead of me and M4rdyB it's unreal, (though I certainly dragged M4rdyB down a lot I think). I'm just not a CTF player. Can't make the Translocator work, can't think about too many things at once. I bow to the superiority of the other players, and say thanks for the games, and back away graciously. ;)
