Builds?
Currently there is no known way for you to change the skills on your characters, once you have made them. The idea behind the builds is to play in Single Player using a Trainer to artificially boost your level to 50 and then try out different combinations of skills to see which ones work the best. This then allows you to build a solid multiplayer character without accidentally gimping yourself.
What are these three icons in the bottom right of my screen?
These are the minigame, play it, it's good. Read what the icons mean, http://uk.gamespot.com/features/6182055/p-6.html
My game runs slow
Try turning down the Anti Aliasing settings in game to low.
If you are running Vista, try this hotfix, http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a156e265-40ff-468e-bba2-3d1e1929c416&displayLang=en
My game crashes with 'Memory Exhausted'
Try increasing, or setting Auto on your pagefile and ideally put it on a different HDD to your OS.
Does the game support SLI?
Yes it does, but it doesn't seem to have a massive impact on the running of the game. No harm in turning it on.
How do multiplayer quests work?
Currently, you will need someone with the quest to be the leader in order to complete it. So if you have a 3 man team and 2 people have a quest and the other has it complete. One of the 2 with the quest will need to be leader for the correct instance to spawn.
Instance?
Hellgate multiplayer works rather like Guild Wars, with a few key differences. You can meet anyone in the game in a town or outpost, team up and then go out into an instance to play. The key difference is that the instance is constant for that team, meaning that anyone can leave and join at any time and then just port into the instance to meet up with the team.
This is superb in that you can Recall to town and then port back to your team mates no matter where they are.
Forums
So you live in the EU, have created an EU account, and are now wondering, "How do I get on the forums?"
First thing: Currently, all forums are located on the US version of the site (www.hellgatelondon.com (http://www.hellgatelondon.com)). Eventually there will be some sort of forum locally on the EU site, but this date is still TBA.
Second thing: To access the US forums, you'll need to create a game account on the US site as well. This is because we have separate account databases for US and EU players. It's free to create, doesn't take long, and you can use the same account name as your EU one if you wish (assuming it's available).
What's all this subscription business?
Currently, you do not have to subscribe or even play online in order to enjoy Hellgate London. If you want to subscribe, you will need to login to your account and setup your subscription. It will cost £6.99 a month and you will get the following benefits.
Subscribers get massive amounts of ongoing content and access to special features, events, and benefits right away:
Hardcore Mode
Guild Creation and Management
Larger Stash
Additional Character Slots
Themed Events and Quests
Unique Event Items
Special Event PetsHellgate: London Subscribers will also get a host of new content that is designed to extend, enhance and alter the way the game is enjoyed:
New Levels to Explore
New Monsters
New Weapons
New Skills and Spells
New Character Classes
Raid-Level Areas
Seasonal / Themed Events and Items
Additional Difficulty and Game Play Modes
Additional PvP Modes and Rewards
Achievement Rewards
Advanced Guild Management Tools
Web-based Rankings and Character ViewingCurrently, lots of these features are not online. There is a themed event running at the moment which is open to subscribers (Guy Fawkes).
It would also appear that Subscribers get substantially larger instances than non subscribers. In order to take advantage of this, your team leader will need to be a subscriber. Bear in mind that if you have a quest to do you will need to be team leader and the instance will be smaller.
I think this is a current bug, as it makes no sense to have to reform the team every time you change quest.
How do I make money?
Collect every single thing that drops, and then port back to town to sell whenever your inventory is full, and never buy any items. Use Analyzers to id the items before selling them to increase value. Do bear in mind that this is just what I do, and probably isn't the most profitably way of doing things. The gamespot guide seems to think that the components are worth more than the items, but I can't see it myself.
Can I upgrade my items?
Yes you can. Do this by placing the item in either the Augmentron 3000 or for better upgrades, into the Nanoforge.
What are the colours for items?
Gray is Regular
Green is Enhanced
Blue is Rare
Orange is Legendary
Yellow is Unique
Does ingame voice chat and xfire work?
I don't think these features are currently live.
Can I see my FPS ingame?
I don't know a command for this, I have been using Fraps myself.
Feel free to add your own ones :awesome:
