Well, for once we are ahead of the game!

Dates for LlamaLAN 9 are confirmed as 22-24th February 2008. Signups are now open, so feel free to login and get yourselves signed up.

As usual, once you have paid you can select your seat. Please note the venue is split into 4 teams for this event, and we would like all those attending to join their team in the organised games. If you do not want to join your teams, please unselect the "Big Games" options in your profile.

Dates for LlamaLAN 10 are 15-17th August 2008 so put that in your diary

Fellow LlamaLANers,

I am sure that you will be ecstatic to know that for the first time EVER we have hit our minimum payment requirement more than 24 HOURS BEFORE the deadline. Seasoned LlamaLAN attendees will know that we are renowned for cutting it fine, in one case, mere moments before a midnight deadline, but this time we have hit the minimum number of PAID signups with time to spare.

Many thanks to everyone who has put their money where their mouths are and paid to attend this event, we looking forward to seeing old friends and new friends alike.

The extra good news is that since the event is now CONFIRMED anyone sitting on the fence and umming and aahing about attending can now sign up and STILL GET THE DISCOUNTED PRICE. Yes that's right, it's still £15 (+PayPal charges) until MIDNIGHT TOMORROW, so get in and get your tickets NOW.

Equally good news is that we are looking to produce yet another classic range of definitive, exclusive, limited edition t-shirts, designed by the uber-talented Matthew 'Golem/Recurring' Ainge. If you are interested you need to get onto the forums and start letting us know you're interested, if we have enough interest then we can go ahead.

There is still room for change in the games list for LlamaLAN 9, but it looks like a few clear favourites are coming through, if you think that your favourite game is not represented then make sure that you vote for it in your profile. Keep a close eye on the list, and the schedule for the big games will be published in about a fortnight.

Those who have been particularly observant of the superb posters being produced by Golem, may have realised a theme, as a result the one CONFIRMED GAME will of course be ...

TEAM FORTRESS 2

.. it will be a FOUR WAY TOURNAMENT between the classic RED and BLUE, and introducing the new GREEN and YELLOW TEAMS. More details to follow.

We have several VERY important announcements to make.

First, the LlamaLAN 9 Commemorative T-Shirts are a GO!
The initial problems we had with sourcing these unique items have been solved, not only do we have some gorgeous heavy 'Fruit of the Loom' black t-shirts, they will be printed with that incredible, well defined, soft vinyl which worked so well on the Hawaiian shirts from last event to give a result that will look great for years (if you follow the instructions), but even better ... THEY ARE CHEAPER! Yes! You heard right ... CHEAPER!

The LlamaLAN 9 Commemorative T-Shirts are only £10 each

ONCE THEY ARE GONE THEY ARE GONE!

All orders should be placed before midnight on Tuesday the 5th of February, after that time you'll need to hope that you are first in line for a spare.

* Get them before midnight on Thursday the 14th of February

Third, the more observant amongst you may have noticed that we are well on our way to SELLING OUT! We have sold three-quarters of the available places and have people signed up who may take 4 out of the last 10 places. If you want to attend, or know someone who wants to attend then NOW is the time to do it, turning up on the door and paying may not be an option if we have filled all the seats.

Fourth, CHOOSE YOUR GAMES! As many know the choices you make shape the LAN and what we play, in your profile you can add a list of your favourite games, and when the time comes 'der Management look at the votes cast and make the decision about what to play based on the what you have selected. We try and make it varied, but ultimately there is no point playing a game where only a few people have the game installed and want to play, and so the more votes a game has (http://www.llamalan.co.uk/index.php?Section=listGames.inc.php&EventID=13) the more likely it is to be chosen.

The list of 'Big Games' will be released on Wednesday the 6th of February.

So make sure that your opinion gets heard and get your Games in your Profile.
