Midway and Epic today announced that Unreal Tournament 3 has gone to gold master for the PC. Developed by the team behind the critically acclaimed video game Gears of War, Unreal Tournament 3 is currently scheduled to ship in North America on November 19th for the PC with a suggested retail price of $49.95 and $59.95 for the collector's edition. The PlayStation®3 version will follow soon. What doe it mean its gone to gold master on the pc?
Everyone who buys it gets a free piece of gold?

Assume you are joking, but just incase... gone gold means the finish game has been sent to be manufactured en-mass ready to be bought then played. (so expect to be seen in shops in about 3 weeks). Traditionally you would consider that means they have finished, but in the modern day of patches, it means they are happy to sell the game in the current state and patch it later.. :)

aren't the gold/platinum framed record thingies to do with record X has sold Y hundred thousand?

as for ut3, i've kind of gone a bit luke-warm on it after playing some 2k4, it's in some tough competition with stuff that's really new and exciting in november, and not just a little step above 2k4. and that abortion of an interface in the demo really needs bringing up to regular ut standards at the very least. might buy it later depending what people say on the final

ut3 went gold for PS3 as well... looks like they are going to hit a 2007 release afterall.
