Just picked this up from the official forums.
The 1.2 Update is currently undergoing final testing and checks, and we're currently plan to release it later today. In anticipation of the update, the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Master Server will be down for maintenance from 16:45 GMT to 17:15 GMT / 9:45 AM PST to 10:15 AM PST. You will not be able to log into your online account during this time and, once the maintenance has been completed, you will need to have updated your game to version 1.2 before you can play online again.

From Clanbase
The first details about the up and coming v1.2 patch for Enemy Territory: Quake wars have been released. It features many bug fixes and tweaks, as well as VoIP support.
The patch will add full voice communication support, meaning communicating with your team mates will now be easier than ever. You will be able to communicate on three different channels, but if you don't like the idea, or want to mute someone then you will be able to do that as well, either by muting the entire VoIP, specific channels or even specific players.
Some of the weapons have also been tweaked, creating a more balanced game by tweaking accuracy and firing rates, among other things. Most notably, the pistol and blaster are now more accurate and the shotgun and nailgun now have an increased firing rate.
Fireteams will now last over all maps on a server, unless you disband it yourself. Stopwatch mode has also been changed. If the map ends in a tie, then the team that has progressed further through the objectives will win the map. This is apparently the first in a line of improvements to tournament support.
Due to popular demand, the ability to save your password has been added, and the instant messaging feature has been improved, so you can now log your conversations. When searching for servers, you will now be able to ask the browser to just search for your favourites, rather than having to update the entire list.
There of course are many, many more fixes in the patch, which you can see on the Official Quake Wars Commuity Site. There is no official release scheduled for the patch, but hopefully it won't be too long!
