actually very positive
trans works well - couldn't get it going on the vCTF map tho - probs a hoverboard thing
I trans'd around the map like a mad thing but didn't seem to run out of charges - couldn't telefrag anyone tho'.
insta - nice phat beam and a decent noise :)
oh and destroys vehicles with one hit - mwhahahaha!
oh also - wanted to see if there was anything beyond godlike and monsterkill but there wasn't - least not on the demo
also....god in console works

Ok.
Instagib rifle rocks. This may replace the sniper for me. Yes the sniper is good but its slow, nothing like UT99.
Very nice indeed.
Could not find the translocator though?

I just tried the Transloctor ( it only works in Shanri La map) and felt horribly restrained, what are all these invisible barriers keeping me from running along the rooftops? what a shame! The freedom given by the translocator isn't as big as it should be! i can't get to the other side of the map by shooting is over a building... same goes when exploring with the impact hammer and god mode on, no way to get to the high places and look around...
That sux...

That's surely just a limit of a DM map that wasn't intended for trans? A lot of DM maps have invisible barriers to prevent mapbug exploits (hammer jumping, rocket boosting to daft places)
I'd not be too disappointed in trans performance on a map that wasn't designed for it, in a demo that wasn't intended to showcase the trans. The trans is one of UT's unique selling points, they'd be daft to break it - and after the moaning from 2k4 trans users, hopefully they won't cripple it as much.

True it doesn't apply really to DM maps, but I hope the same barriers are less frequent in CTF.
However, in the Shangrila map, i was dissapointed when i found out i couldnt get to the roofs, that isnt such a daft place i'm sure i'm not the only one who would like to get there.

I'll have a look again. Trans didnt show on DM Heatray so i'll try the other map.
Piley:
ps: anyone tried a hammer jump? I can't get it right...dam hard!

Yeah, the piston is a bit iffy, nowhere near as weedy as the trans though :v
..... and I think they coded the sniper/torch in reverse ;)

Yup. Sniper is nice.....but sooo slow.............the UT 99 sniper is the king.
