I liked the temporary venue. I think the main difference this time was that it was more LAN party and less StratLAN, I think that makes sense. In a good way though! I had a great time, played loads of games, spent time with a few people I don't see often enough, it was all good. :)

Huge thanks goes to Multiplay as always.I was very pleasantly surprised by Kwari at the LAN - I'd had some reservations beforehand, but they really nailed the spirit of StratLANs and fit in beautifully.

Great lan. Much fun indeed, I rather liked the new room although the lack of kitchen and fridge edge the old room ahead a bit.

I had a great time. I was a little apprehensive about the new venue but it wasn't actually bad. My only gripe was the stairs steps you need to take to get in and out of the building, nearly killed myself while drunk like 3 times.

Having the Kwari team there for the pub and Beta test was excellent. After doing so well at the game I managed to recoup Saturdays beer/food cost, thanks Kwari! <3

Cracking weekend and i dont think i've ever consumed so much alcohol in a night (friday) moose game with spirits after drinking everything else is a bad idea!!

but hey - even though i was ****faced.. i still had some common sense not to be a complete cock! - shame a couple of people just cant deal with drinking a lil too much!

Have to agree with Jingles' 'best SLAN ever' comment - certainly was the most enjoyable I've been to to date. Both Kwari and MPUK did a damn fine job, especially considering the fact it was a different location.

Of course, this means that I'll be expecting free money, beer and beta tests every SLAN from now on! Craig - make it happen! :D

What I liked:

Kwari beta - You two could not have done a better job. Paying for booze for the masses was a huge thumbs up, the pre-test speech in the bar area was excellent, and the game itself was amusing to test (just a shame it didn't run on everyone's machine). I don't know how this beta test worked out in your risk/gain scenario, but earning £33 in actual cash for playing four games was just fine by me.

non-WoW gameplay. I spent the last i-series pretty much playing WoW exclusively. This time, I didn't even load the front-end launcher. I had great fun playing TF2 for the first time (apart from Bvark screaming directly into my ear when I picked the spy and ****ed up), a little less fun playing Sup Com FA beta and dying pretty much first, and a solid chuckle from gaydar'ing AcidUK while he was -at his pc talking to someone-. Apparently being able to navigate to Gaydar, one-handed, in under 3 seconds, is cause for concern.

I also enjoyed the portal shenanigans :D What an epic game.


What I wasn't keen on:

The new venue - the desks weren't laid out as per the plan, so I had to avoid chairs, murraymints and tesco bags whenever I wanted to go somewhere other than my desk. The bar chairs were also hugely uncomfortable during the football / rugby, but that's something that is out of MPUK's control so no matter.

The sleeping area was a disaster. Not least because I didn't check my airbed ahead of time and thus found out it had a popped segment right on my spine, but the ****ing scum who decided to TAKE A ****ING PISS IN THE ROOM in the early hours of Saturday morning and then laugh about it? What the hell? Don't you dare blame alcohol - I've got drunk to the point of vomiting in my past and NEVER have I thought it would be a good idea to take a piss indoors. Whoever you are, don't you ****ing dare come back to a Multiplay event, you aren't welcome. Same goes for the idiot that passed out on RK's airbed - I've experienced this at an i-series where I've come back to the sleeping area late and found someone happily dozing away on my airbed with my sleeping bag around him - it's nothing but ignorance and disdain. Just **** off.

I ended up abandoning the lan late Saturday after I went to the sleeping area to realise just how screwed my airbed was. I packed my stuff up and drove home instead, must be getting old, but I was extremely grateful for the good nights sleep I had :(

I guess it was the best MPUK could do under the circumstances regarding the venue - the lower number of people meant parking wasn't an issue at all, and the fair in Stratford wasn't the huge cluster**** I was expecting it to be - got to Tesco's and back ok on Saturday, but it just felt a lot less special than the old SLAN's used to be.

Glad most people enjoyed it, the LAN itself that is. The new venue wasn't great no, but we'll be pack in our old home (most likely all totally redone :) ) for Xmas StratLAN.
As for the person who pissed in the sleeping area - we still don't know who it was. So if anyone does, please let either me, Wizzo, Killing or RTO know.

Was my first StratLAN and I definately enjoyed myself, what I can remember of friday anyway :p, as has been said before some people need to know their limits and/or not be retards when they get drunk, as I *think* I did :D. I remember playing something to do with werewolfs then I wake up in my bed with a sore head about 8 hours later!

I feel quite guilty taking Kwari's money truth be told, I'm not complaining but meh, I'm not sure that the feedback they got would have been worth the time and money spent. (Not sure being hammered is the best state of mind to give opinions)

I'm slightly more interested from the corporate responsibility/gambling side, don't know about anyone else but knowing watching 'my' money go down essentially through no fault of my own is unsettling and at times frustrating.

I hope you find the person who pissed everywhere, from being antisocial to a health and saftey issue I'm not sure I'd want to go to a lan again knowing someone like that is about.

Aye, thought it was a pretty decent LAN. Only my second SLAN, but I really enjoyed it.

I think the room we were in last time was alot better, but that couldn't be helped.

Free bar was awesome, was very drunk on the Friday night. I'll put that down to the respawns, camping was good agin.

Plus some pretty good games goin on, TF2 and Quake Wars.

Am I right in thinking that all the sleeping area shenanagins went on in the sleeping area in the main building (i.e. not the normal sleeping area)? I was in the normal SLAN sleeping area and it was perfect - in fact even better than normal because it was relatively empty, and completely quiet.
