The Games of SLAN

Ok, with SLAN imminent I though I would try get an idea of what games people will be playing over the weekend.

Due to unleashing Vista on my machine recently (raping my machine more like) theres a few games I'm missing and the Q is which ones to spend the effort installing.

A few suggestions to get the ball rolling:

* Old skool Q3 RA/CTF etc.
* WiC (This should own on LAN)
* BF1942 (Killy please play so I can calibrate my sniper rifle)
* BF2 (Yuk), but needed for PROJECT REALITY
* Far Cry amusement
* Sup Com
* Allegiance (Yeah right, can only hope tho :) )
* Steam related fun (CS etc.)
* Tower Wars/Dota (WC3 + TFT)

Good choice, QW:ET is unplayable online. Not that it doesnt work, it does, you just need a really organised team/ group of friends if you are the "attacking" side. Chances of it happening on a public server = slim to none.

On the other hand TF2 is great fun to play :), Portal is interesting and I'll let you know what HL:EP2 is like if I'm ever able to download it. :roll:

I think ETQW could be good in a LAN environment with some good teamplay. TF2 will be a good laugh. WiC is a must (Stu and I will trample you :p).

Well after my booze run last night (carried away in Sainsburys, £75 ffs) I couldn't afford TF2.

On a plus note, BF1942 works fine on Vista *cough* Boff *cough*

Couple of us will probably have a go at it as the new expansions out and we've not tried that yet.

Though we tend to just hack our way through everything, threaten every npc and normally end up killing them and eventually get annoyed with the npc's you have to take along with you, cheat, turns into red dragons and lay waste to all and sundry.

Now i think about it, its a definate for us as per normal but for 'serious' players they'd hate us and throw d20's at us in disgust or something.
