Noticed my laptop is slowing slowing down, and the other day I got a parity check error blue screen message.

The internetz tells me this is a memory issue, and I'm assuming it's a heating issue. (Fans are loud, lappy seems warm.)

I'm posting this here cos I'm hoping some kind sole could help tell me wtf is wrong, what I need to get to fix it and give me a hand replacing stuff inside over the weekend providing it's a simpl-ish fix.

It's either that or let Doogs at it and return home with a very expensive door stop...

It's a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo series, not sure on which one exactly, will check that tonight.

Also where exactly is this other stand. I only ever register the building we always stay in. And the field.

I'm not a big fan of Fuji Amilo at all, but what I advise is getting one of those cans of compressed air and blowing it through the vents to clear out excess dust.

Or it could simply be some non-good RAM that is causing both issues.

Depending on which model of the Amilo is whether it's easy to get to. If it is, open up the panel, remove the RAM, clean out dust and reseat it. See how you go.

I'm suprised that you're having this problem though, normally people throw Amilos away once the keys fall off they keyboard after 2 days so nothing else has time to go wrong :)

Eep. Can't say that before this I've had any issues, it's been a decent piece of kit.

I'll consider giving it a spring clean this weekend then.
