The return of UTStats....(sort of)

I've listed all the ut99 publics onto gametracker, meaning you can all have player rankings back again. it's not the version we are still working on which is more in depth but something is better than nothing as they say. It even gives pretty banners to post on forums like ^Lovers below...

Basically, I want the publics full again, I've sorted all the lag problems and set everything how you all want it...so return the favour, spread the word and lets get every man and his dog on MPUK servers!

Okay, I must be having a senior moment... How do I get the banner to appear in my signature? If I copy the code from the site and paste it into a thread, it works.

I am curious if the rankings look like at the one of truff in the past.
And how the rankings are build up. Eff. acc. whats most important?

In a good ranking you could not find players who are wurse than you and easy 2 defeat i think?

I just hope the rankings are easy to understand. I've played on another server a lot, with a website and with rankings, and interesting as it is to see yourself rising up the list, it's bizarre how the rankings are worked out. There'd be games I'd win, yet my rank would go down. Then there's be games where I'd play for only a few minutes, not do very well, then get side-tracked and leave myself dead for most of the game, and my rank would shoot up!! :confused:

Plus looking at my banner I would expect to see something as I was playing on the DM#2 Popular Maps this morning, but nothing. :confused:

Never mind, different banner for each server I gather. (The other place I've played with rankings was a single server, so I never had to think about checking different server stats.)

Nice to see I'm currently in 3rd place on the LMS Instagib...prolly my favourite of all the games. :D

Don't know if this is possible, but is there a way to view more intricate details regarding the stats of MP.co.uk servers?

At another server I've played on, ("YKI Instagib"), there's a HUGE amount of detail stored on all the players and the games played.

Let's say I choose my own name from the list of thousands of players who have played on the server. I can see my total frags, total time spent on the server, number of wins and losses and my overall rank, (which goes up and down depending on performance). Also, I can see how many Killing Sprees and Rampages and Dominations I've had.

Additionally there'll be a list of all the games I've played in, showing the map, the opponents, a graph of the top 6 or 7 players' frags throughout the match, a table of the number of times who fragged who, any changes to the rankings for the human players involved, and even a full transcript of the console messages, including all the chat.

It's really interesting to look at after a session of several games. On the MP.co.uk stats, all I can see really is a cumulative score, which doesn't really show who the better players are...it just shows who plays the servers the most. Unless I'm missing something and not clicking the right bits to reveal all the stored information?

Just for info, here's a link to the Stats page for the other server I've played on before. I've realised it's UT2K4, so perhaps this is the major difference...does 2K4 offer far more detail?

Well is it possible to show the top rankers based on ability, rather than simply on the number of frags. Anyone with enough time on their hands can get lots of frags and get near the top of the scoreboard.

Heck, I'm 4th out of 281 at the moment, but no way am I the 4th best player...I've just got the 4th most amount of frags, that's all.

Heh that's what I don't like about these stats, the old ones did frag count over time played or something similar to get a average.

I just hope that 'utstats.truff.net' will stayed preserved for eternity :) They're an archive to remember all the past players n rankings from the good ol' days.

Is it Truff who is keeping it online or MPUK now? I just had visions of them being reset/overwritten for the new stats... :eek:

Aha, yes, that's exactly the sort of thing I want to see (only just looked!) here with the MPUK UT99 Stats. Would be great.

we did it for a while however it caused us a tremendous headache and are still recoding it all slightly to have less of a hit on the servers.

Two things;

1. Is something wrong with the Stats? I just looked at my own stats and ALL the server names appear as CTF servers. But click my name next to the one where my score is 426 after 631 minutes and you'll see those are my LMS scores.

2. And talking of my LMS scores, my score per minute is 0.7. Most players seem to have a score per minute of 0.6 to 1.1. But there's someone there, in 3rd, "Bazoo", who has a score per minute of 14.7!!! He's been playing for half an hour, and has scored more than people who have been playing between 5 and 10 hours. Surely this isn't genuine?! :mad:

I think that we could see who is a good player, after people will play over 100 hours. I guess that the score will be hard to change in a day...

I dunno, by people cheating? There are some on the MP.co.uk server stats who have scores that FAR outweigh the scores of any of the best players I've ever played against.

But tring-to-be-high-on-the-scoreboards notwithstanding, the information they provide is superb. I just wish there was more information at the moment on the MP.co.uk ones.

I thought you meant cheating like botting in game or hacking something...but if you just mean beefing up stats. yah..I hear that.. .but stats should ALWAYS be taken witha grain salt so to speak. If building stats is motivation for people to play more.. I say more power to em.

getting people to play is more important that any other factor for the sucess and fun of UT (imo).

again... pro far outweighs the cons imo.

Do I need to re-auth my player-account? It says, "Main Account". When I first started I was Adrena1in, then [TPB]Adrena1in, then Adrena1in again, and now Paso_Liati. Would my "Main Account" be the first one, or the one I'm currently using?!
