StratLAN 34 capped at 60 places ... for now!

You will no doubt remember the shenanigans of our "summer" StratLAN which was cancelled due to the floods in July rendering our venue unusable for the end of August.

Stratford Racecourse has been desperately trying to repair its buildings but the main room we use is still suffering from dampness, despite extensive efforts by the racecourse to dry the rooms out.

We are not sure whether or not this room will be available to us or not and there is a chance we will have to hire the Grandstand room instead. This room only has a maximum capacity of 60 people so to ensure we don't end up with a situation whereby we are over-subscribed, we are temporarily capping the event to 60 until we can get a definite answer from the racecourse regarding our usual room.

We'll keep you informed but in the meantime there is only a handful of places left before we reach the "safe 60" limit.

Looks like quite a nice pair of rooms. Large bar ftw.
As the room is smaller; are you paying less to rent it? And will you pass those savings on to your customers?

Total floorspace = about the same it appears so I'd expect cost to be about the same. Although even if cheaper to hire it'd be good to pass the difference on to the racecourse to help fix things up.

I would imaginge the upstairs of the Normal Arena is unaffected thats providing the cost is the same.

Seeing the amount of business MPUK has given to SUARC it would be nice if they dident spacker them over the bill.

Yes, I hooked up the brand new routers to the brand new lines today. We're going to run a long cable to them. The routers have been left there training so the conn should be stable in time for the event. When I left them they were syncing one at 5888, one at 7--- something.

VV limited fridge space. Plenty of sleeping down in the Champagne Room end, or kip on/around the TERRACED SEATS OF JOY (to be labelled as such on the seating plan).

There's portakabin shower blocks. One for each gender.
