Yes forget Stratlan drinking, its the yearly time when the entire of Stratford's town centre is closed and occupied by one of the largest in town fun fairs of the country.

You need to check it out friday night as normally come 09:00 on the 13th its all gone.. packed away.. gone..

Well worth a trip in, get some toffee applies and candy floss.

I think you missed out on the whole, its a really good fun fair and well worth a run into town to experience it. You can ninja into the racecourse from other routes very easy.

Hereford has a May Fair every year, same kind of thing, rides go all through the city center. It's great! I miss not being able to go.
The thing I love is the history behind it, at the opening ceremony, the bishop is presented with the token rent for the fair - twelve and a half bushels of best wheat. :) nice to have abit of heritage

For Stratford, it was a slave sale. Each slave was given a MOP to signify their sale, if they escaped with the MOP and preseneted themselves two weeks later at the smaller 'runaway mop' fair they could be resold to another employer... and yes the town closes in two weeks time after this for the runaway mop as well.
