it's been annoying me since friday and i still haven't been able to fix it yet :(
it just seems to me the game is running a lot worse than when i played the demo (which played perfectly). I've tried smacking in all the commands for it to work right but it's still not brilliant
is anyone else getting this issue? It's stupid how it's been held back for so long yet theres still problems :( (or there is for me at least)

You're not running dual screens are you?

There are also several (not downloaded automatically by windows updates) updates which relate to low frame rates on nVidia kit, after applying them I noticed a much improve smoothness.

Ive got this problem and im running dual screen but me thinks I overclocked a already factory overclocked 8800.
Ive reduced the clock to factory settings but still Im getting low fps and massive tearing in any video or game.

nah i'm not running Duel screens - and i've set nvidia control panel to single screen.
it's just very odd. i'll have a look around for some tools from nvidia see if any help :). How come they made the game in Open GL btw? Surely that might have something to do with it seeing as everything is done in Direct X nowadays

Nope. I have to admit that the game installed and runs perfectly. It does seem to have a 30fps cap though, which my system just hits constantly.

For me the full game runs better than the demo.

Unfortantly for me + a friend the full game runs like a bag of nails, but the demo was fine. Hoping future patches will sort it out, otherwise I'll just keep playing TF2 & Halo 3.

I upgraded in between the demo and the retail so can't comment on the difference. In an ideal world I'd like to run ET:QW at 60 fps constant, but at 1280x1024 and medium textures it cannot maintain this and drops to, at the least, 25fps. Clearly this is quite a drop from 60fps and thus I've put the 30fps cap back in place.
I did expect my system to run the game at the above res and low to mid textures, with a 40-60 frame rate, but it can't, so I guess I'm a tad disappointed on this front.
