WTB: Longer LAN

Amazing time as always I feel empty now :(, I don't think I was nearly offensive enough this LAN and shall correct it in the future.

Was damned fine tbh, and so close to my house!

One of the things I noticed was that the projector in the main room was great for bringing the whole LAN together, e.g. the Zero Punctuation and Family Guy stuff could be enjoyed by everyone all at the same time.

This was especially noticeable as I spent most of i31 feeling that the LAN lacked a central focus. Obviously there is the marquee, but as it's empty most of the time, it's hardly the central point of the LAN. The Tote Bar was really the closest thing this time around, but for earlier i-series I'd say it was the ground floor. I guess it needs to be somewhere with constant action / people, but also somewhere everyone can see from their PC (I'd pretty much always be seated on the ground floor).

Obviously it's hard to do this with a big venue, but DH does quite well with it's big stage.

Great lan, great length, great facilities, great location (next to hotel FTW), and Brian/Geedee randomly providing food also highly welcome.

2 complaints though:
1) Due to Robin's green jolt + vodka (and also maybe Joey's cheeky Pimms) i got far too wasted on the Friday which meant i wasnt really conscious until 5pm on saturday. :)

2) Giles left that GOD DAMN umb-er-ella song on the projector !!!

Thanks for the feedback guys and girls.

Special thanks goes to the win people who helped clean up after the event, had a word with the caretaker late last night and he was pleased with the clean levels :)

As for hot air balloon, we will look in to it BUT we are NOT promising anything.

This FBL was the worst one in a while now. I didn't enjoy it *at all*.

In fact, the very presence of FBL during this weekend distressed me greatly as I was 200 miles away sailing the failboat of non participation.

You will all pay.

My first FBL and it was great. A welcome return to small LANs. :)
Complimentary food/beer was great. Venue is good. Projector is good.
No Quake 3 or UT was a bit lame and Doc is a **** for stealing my comfy chair on Saturday morning. :p

Oh excellent game of football by everyone as well :) 11 of us running around knackering ourselves out in 3 minutes.... what fun :D

Whole LAN was excellent, although there did seem to be some mass gaming missing. Did anyone play BF, Trackmania and others that we normally play? Did i just miss the shoutouts?
