So we all know how much the first game sucked. I'm sending out the pre-order emails at the moment and was wondering what people's thoughts are if any?

Seems that it might be worth looking at, although off the back of the sheer number of things that would need to be done to make the first game even remotely good are staggering.

We all also know that Need for Speed Carbon sucked hard. So will this be the next street racing title? There is a trailer on fileplanet, http://www.fileplanet.com/107313/0/0/0/section/Movies

Heh, Alot of rip off features from other racing games it seems...

The "cities" also look like something from trackmania. Which may be a good thing...

Considering how much of a flop the first one was, I don't think i'll be buying it.

Nor me, but I think I might grab the demo and see how it plays, although the trailer does look really rather like they have simply added more content to the same lousy game engine.

I think I might grab the demo and see just how bad it really is. Still not quite bored of NFS:MW yet ;)

I'm playing Midnight Club 2 atm

Its actually pretty damn fun. Shame the first muscle car you get just wipes all the competition ;)
But its like a arcade racer should be. Good quick simple fun with a bit of a challenge.

Yep, I have Midnight Club 3 on my ps2, although I have trouble seeing the road most times, tv isn't really clear enough for all those shiny pixels. Perhaps racing in car rather than in far chase would help me ;)

Just don't tell Gunsmith ... :p

You *have* to race in car in racing games. If you dont then you're blatantly a driving noob :D

BLATES, YO!

Okay, I gave the demo a spin tonight. Sorry to say that it sucks just slightly less than the first one. The control of the cars is just plain odd. The fact it's a direct Xbox port is another minus point.

The car's look nice though, model wise. They have totally overkilled the after effects and specular lighting on them though, so it's more shine than good skinning. Also this rolls over into the one positive. The car customisation options are extensive and have some good things to offer.

The problem, as ever, comes with the decals and vinyls. It uses the same as NFS Carbon, the stupid, ripped direct from console, slide and scale with cursors control, man I hate that :( The result is some really ace looking decals looking ultimately very small, fuzzy and impossible to make out.

Don't think you'll be making some fly ride with nice decals on. You won't.

The drift is just totally strange control wise. As for the actual racing, the game looks pretty much exactly the same as the first Juiced game. This is definitly a case of overhauling the UI look without spending any time where it really matters, on the driving physics or game engine.

Overall, I would rather have spent my 1.5gb of download on downloading a very interesting documentary about the compound elements found in common household paint and how they help to make paint dry quicker, presented by Professor John Greenstien.

Avoid!
