They're replacing the Back to the Future ride at Universal Studios in Florida with a stupid Simpsons one.

Last ride was on Monday.

Whilst it did stir some lovely, lovely memories, it did shake my teeth out and give me concussion :P

They had it in LA last year when we went, but a lot can change in a year.

It makes sense though, to even vaguely remember Back to the Future you'd have to be at least 20. Unfortunately nostalgia isn't a selling point for kids and families!

i remember it (and rode it) when it was cutting edge, but i've had family visit recently who've said that it's dated and the movement of the cars has gradually got more and more out of sync with the video. perhaps it would've been nicer to refurbish it but there we go.

interestingly enough, it's only 8 years until the future bits from back to the future part 2 become contemporary. where is the weather service? where are the auto-drying, auto-adjusting clothes? WHERE IS MY FLYING CAR?!

I never saw it and when I went in February, and quite possibly both Universal Studios theme parks are identical.

And it's a bloody shame it's going. How old was the ride, anyway?

Florida one closed earlier this year, wasnt open when I was there, its a shame its going :(

The Mummy ride was the nuts - great fun!. ET was awful, and a HUGE disappointment - bin it now! BTTF ride make me feel rather sick. I think it was time for it to be decomissioned.
