Have I borked it?

Lo all,

Just started playing this and wondered if I've screwed my chances already.

The Military guards at the first broken bridge just north of where you start...instead of waiting for them to go on lunch or avoiding them...I ganked them with the pistol.

Everything went a bit Quake for a moment...

...I launched myself off the top of the bridge, landed on ones head (and took no damage...lol) shot him in the head, ran upto the other guards using the debris as cover, headshotting them with the pistol in turn.

...so...ho ho ho now I have a machine gun (x lots).

but, what I wanted to know is, by doing this, have I screwed myself with the military faction forever now? Will they always KOS me? Is there ever a chance to befriend them? etc?

the military are pretty much always hostile. i don't think you can mess up stalker by choosing one faction over another.

First time i played the game through i killed them all and got my machine gun.

Second time i played through i walked up to them with my gun holstered and payed to get past.

yeah, the faction system is clever enough to let you mess around like that.

If you feed the mutants enough vodka, they will be your friends too.

The militarys role there is to control the area and sort out the people illegally entering the restricted area, stealing artifacts etc.

Later sections may... or may not be... fun with the militarys KOS attitude anyways :P

Personally I snipe them with my scoped AK and steal their goods :P

Shoot too many Dogs and they become Hostile to you instead of neutral. You can't gain a dogs respect back. Especially a mutant ones! :v
