WORST COMPANY FOR DRIVERS EVER

This is a follow up to the problem I had with my sound card. I stuck in a Aureon 7.1 Space card and OH MY ****ING GOD I WISH I HAD STABBED MYSELF.

I put the card in first and installed the first drivers google showed up. Working fine for about 2 days.

Then, this morning, for some completely unknown..unprovoked and completely strange reason, it decided to start outputting the Centre/Woofer output through my L/R channels.

Remove drivers, ah **** wait a minute, i never kept the other ones.

Its took 2 frigging hours to find a set of drivers that works and has all the neccessary files in it. All the ones on the terratec website were missing a key .sys file so all were completely useless.

Now ive got that sorted again its back in action.

Have you tried ringing terratec?
Also i know what you mean about terratec. Mate has one of there cards and when hes in cubase after a long session he just loses sound and usually has to restart his pc to get it back.

And guess what.

Right in the middle of a ****ing game. This is how random it is.

Once again the stupid ****ing thing goes back to teh Sub/Centre layout. No provocation or intervention from me at all.

This is really going to piss me off if i need to reinstall the drivers twice a day to get a quality sound out.

get an X-fi the cheapest version is under £50 now and the driver support is good, but most games today are developed with the x-fi as the benchmark in audio

directx 10.1 will hopefully bury creative in a very deep hole, they're meant to be porting over the xbox360 audio API xaudio2. hopefully that means that any company can make a dx10.1 compliant sound card and the games that use it will be firing on all cylinders for all manufacturers, not just one who won't share their toys with the other kids. should make for better port jobs too

i hope dolby etc becomes more standard in games than EAX as i really want the Asus soundcard reviewed in the latest CPC. Looks utterly awesome and beats x-fi in music and many other things.
