Well surprised this post aint already been done :)

Be intresting too see what everyone wants and expects out of IDs latest upcoming release...

These are my views

Im hoping that q4 will be a mix between q3 and q2 and q1 :)

In other words q3a should of been pro mod...


-Jumps, this kept ppl happy for ages while in warm up, or even when mum was on the fone, so just practice jumps on q2dm1 :). This was great fun and also helped the demo community But was also essential to learn to get to certain powerups.

-Speaking of demos, what the hell happened in q3a. gl_synchronousclients 1 !! and if u wanted to make a decent demo u couldnt edit the demo u had to do cl_avi demo and it would then fill your hdd up with screenshots. Then lets turn these into avi's. So urm where do i get a program for editing avi's :/. Lets keep it like q1/q2 record demo then edit with keygrip :). Then convert to a divX movie for all to enjoy. Super.

-Maps, i agree, more time should be put in. quake 3 only had a few good maps, like dm6. For quake 4 id like to see a map with the teamplay ability and a map u cand just run around for hours trying out jumps. Ok so i want sommit like q2dm1. But oh god plz dont do q2dm1 otherwise everyone will go crazy as most q2 players have probably spent about 80% of thier q2 playing time on that map. So just bare in mind what the map has and try to include something like it. e.g. a room which has reasons to be held, main area to fight a smaller main area.

-Wepons, well tbh the weapons are really about perfect now.in q3a the game was balanced perfectly so really no changes apart from bfg, put it back to the q2 one ;). all they will need to do is add a new weapon then re-model/skin the old ones and givem new names apart from railgun :P. Also weapon changing, this would have to be tested in earliy demos but put back like q1 instant weapon change. This makes for some sw33t weapon combos, great on demos with some bangin music :).

-Gameplay, I think once again they should concerntrate alot on multiplay because of more ppl with broadband connections. And more will follow, so that was a shame with q3a because u really do need a good connex to be playable. So this wont be as much of a problem. I will probably play q3a more when i get cable or sommit making up for all those missed hours. The game speed of q3a is great, its fast paced but this would sacfrifice teamplay so there would have to be a fine balance. In q3a u dont bind say_team need back up @ %l because u are either dead or u have fragged em. In q2 u would ask for backup and ppl would come, and it would help. This is what i mean by team play. Not just sticking together in one place acting as one massive railgun.

-Powerups quad, red armour, blah ya sorted.

Isn't Raven Software doing it for iD?
It's gonna blow Unreal 2 away thats for sure.

to make a new wicked game you need more modes of play, like CTF as torney style, its time to model UT and also transfering certain weapons from Killer Quake would be great!!!
