Day of Defeat : New Community

To All Day of Defeat Clans - 1.3 and Source.

Welcome everyone to the new Multiplay UK Day Of Defeat community.

I have been elected as community liaiason for Multiplay. My job is to build up a regular, respectable and generally good online Day of Defeat community.

With this news, I bring a few announcements.

1) There are 3 servers available for you. Two 1.3 servers each with 16 slots. And one Source server with 32 slots. This server also runs at 100 tick for the ultimate performance.

The server information is as follows.

Source - 100 tick - 32 Player mayhem - All officail maps - 85.236.100.17:27215
1.3 #1 - Popular maps - 16 players - 85.236.100.59:27315
1.3 #2 - Custom maps - 16 players - 85.236.100.59:27415

Please bear with the custom maps server at the moment. We are aware of a large number of problems of maps missing .mdl and sprite files, were working on it :)

Having said that though, we have a custom maps server (with LOTS of working maps) with one of the fastest map redirects in the UK. It really is an awesome server.

2) We also have a Ventrillo Server. This server plenty slots to go around.

If your clan would like a channel on the server, then you need to do a few things.

You need to be be active on the public servers. And be friendly. Pass those and you can have some free Vent.


3) I have recruited a second in charge. His name is whatisruleone (WIRO), just to let you know :)

Yes it is great news. :)

I will be monitoring everything closely and I will always try to keep the servers busy and the community strong.

***UPDATE***

I was speaking with WIRO earlier.

We (by which I mean him) came to the conclusion that the Ava Only server was a bad idea. Not only are there thousands of them, but they tend to be populated by avawhores who only play avalanche.

We decided that this was not the sort of community we would like to offer. Seeing as these avawhore communities frequently rely heavily on amxx plugins to manage their servers.

Hence, the ava only server has been converted to a Custom maps server. If there are any maps on this you would like to see then just drop me an email il add it into the rotation for you.

I shall be looking into doing the same for Source soon. Just need to have the first server busy. In the meantime, let me know if there are any maps you would like on there il put them on for 32 player mayhem.
