...to get something delivered next day?
And don't be fooled by the calling card bit on the pic, the driver left the card at *another* address.......
am *still* on the phone to them, to find out which part of this universe it's in.... ( they did not seem too impressed when I asked them if they could *post* it to me..... )

Initial CityLink , what can I say.
They Rock!
I have had loads deliverd via them, and if they miss you, provided you ring them before 5PM they will re-deliver it the same day!
I suppose its a bonus being on first name terms with the driver. (PS I didnt know him before the solo card got worn out :) )

Parcelline, i know they only too well, the same degree of useless bunch of twattyness as parcel force. They just can't understand the words as late as possible, thats 10am to them. Slow redelivery, useless drivers. String um up.
And as for royal mail, 3 weeks for a hard drive to come. It's been a week i've been waiting for my cold cathode to come from maplins, They say after 2 they'll send it out again. GRRRR!!!!
Use Citylink companys, you can rely on them
Lynching time. :D

We could try.
But i'm fairly sure we'd end up taking a wrong turn and being a day late for the lynching;)

Speaking of Couriers..
Anyone know which ones are good for whole PC's?
Its gonna be the only way that I can get my PC down to i9. Please, none of the usual "Dont use couriers" talk. I need one and I need a decent one :D
Also, anyone have any advice about packing and securing the PC and its parts for transport?

ok, IMHE, I take out the HD and take it myself.
Usually, unless they are complete muppets, the box you got the case in is ok, with extra *hard* cardboard on the corners.
Anything more than that, and you might as well reach for the claim form ( I have a few times )
I worked for Lynx a few times, many years ago. ( Temp )
The word fragile on a box means throw HARD. - *no ***** - they do not get paid enough to give a ****, and if a tinkle and crash is heard, that keeps them amused for 5 mins...
make sure you can live without it for at least 3 weeks before shipping it.
It takes between 3 weeks and 4 months to sort an insurance claim.

Filled me with loads of confidence there Zeb, thanks :) :D
Well, after i looked on TrainLine for train tickets and realised that it would cost me £130 for a return ticket with 4 stops both ways, the idea of going by train suddenly got dropped.
Someone suggested that a Taxi would be cheaper. Would that only be one way though? 220 odd miles from where I live to Newbury aint nice.
Anyway, thanks for your advice people.

I didn't mean to give you that much confidence, but Red Star are normally *very* good.
- As long as you can pick it up from a station.
