Highway Tampa is a vehicle focused map that offers a game experience similar to classic 1942 desert warfare. Explore this stretch of the Arabian Peninsula in your choice of vehicle and work with your team mates to conquer the map for your team. Download the beta, join in the servers, and drive, fly, and destroy your way to victory. Then drop by the EA forums and let us know what you think. Also keep your eyes to the future as this stretch of desert will see combat across two generations of Battlefield.

Its almost dedicated to the vehicle user. Pretty good design, 64 player map could do with bomber jets though.

its a good map, even manages to take away the moaning of base raping yay, and offers something for every one, I even love the touch how EA dwarf have managed to add there adverts and billboards into the map nice one.

I have to say i enjoy the map its a good all round map which offers it all.

lol is it lol lovely lol wow , well i enjoyed playing it and feel with this old map as u say but new possibly old map, with intel adverts now :P its great and highly playable :D but thank you for you :D:

Not a bad map, need more small cars at times though. And the intel adds are just stupid, not only billboards but crates with "intel core 2 duo" on them. Personally i think the adds are total bull, id never buy something because it was advertised in a game. It also makes it all look totally stupid, here we are in the middle east with american billboard adds for intel all over the place...

Thing with those adverts is that they are static i.e. Same as the DICEcream billboards. As the map was funded by Intel you'll see all the billboards are Intel based. BF2 doesn't use the IGA system like BF2142.

Dwarf was not a complaint at the end of the day all these things have to be funded so intel did so why not a little bit of advertising for them. does no harm to the game play.

After a whole heap of shenanigans with my PC and internet I have finally reinstalled BF2 and I'm DLing the patch as I type this. I have already DL'd Highway Tampa I just need to update BF2 with the patch. I'm quite interested on what it's gonna be like, I know there are lots of vehicles but are there any air assets?

Nah very few air assets which makes it a tanks map. Its great seeing people working as teams though with groups of tanks patrolling the map instead of lone wolf style play that most maps get. Although you can still do that and FAV it across the map to the enemy base and try and take out their base :)
