At roughly 23:00 hours on DM popular, while playing Morbias II, I did notice "Ducks" being kicked by UTDC for illegal hook. He came back soon and was allowed to play.
!admin did not work, I guess it is Saturday after all...
Any admin willing too look in to it?

Thanks Zai
I did see your !admin a bit later and checked Ducks' log. It wasn't conclusive and appeared to be one of utdc's little blips. There's a bit of tuning to do with utdc to stop some of the innocent kicks yet.

What exactly is an "illegal hook" by definition?

A change to the games original source which would alter game play.. normally for the bad of others.. like botters.. I think..

It's a program running outside of UT which "hooks" into parts of memory and manipulates them.
Hooks are used by cheats. They are also used by other types of programs, including viruses, anti-virus programs and other legitimate programs that hook into all kinds of things. UTDC reports them as "illegal" when it doesn't know what they are, which is probably the majority.
UTDC can be tweaked to only kick those it positively identifies, and we may use that in future - at present we're learning what 2.0 is like.

I think wrong :(
I thought if you modifed the .dll's of the UT core files etc that was a hook?
Either way hooks are BAD! Naughty timmy.

I could be wrong, certainly not a guru about this.
There's a different setting for checking UT core files though, so I think hooks are different.

Hm, I had the mental image of a salty fisherman with a huge bait-hook in his hand...
Ah well, you know what they say about cheats. They're like Viagra for n00bs, :)
