ok well I'm a woodcrafter and it seems good for Hunters but not a lot else, althoughhh we do make materials for other crafting skills the main Woodworking bit only seems usefull for hunters.

Farming i dont get atm :( but somone in kin did mention that at master and expert lvl's you start to make a massive profit

What skills do you have? and what do you think of them?

I heard the problem with woodcrafting (as a hunter) is that due to the sheer amount of wood needed to level up the tiers you end up in most cases being levels above the bows you can make and have found better bows from your quests.
I took explorer on mine and just sell all the leather, wood and ore I find.

I havent really had time to play with the crafting skills, I had a go at farming, I grew 1 crop of yellow onions (when i finally worked out how to do it). I hear they are nerfing the farming soon to make it harder (if they havent done it already).

Farmers where making stupid amounts of silver for very little work so they did make it harder (or are making).

Crafting can be benefitial if you take the time to level it up. I am a champion and an armsman and when i actualy took the time to level it up i could make very nice axes to use. Right now im not doing much crafting i'll wait till im higher level then come back and master it all to provide weapons for my kinship.

Explorer could be a useful craft to chose if you are unsure, you can collect wood and ores then bank them for later leveling a different craft if you chose.
