Its both different and better imo

i dont get ganked whilst questing innocently :D which is a bonus :)

PvP looks v.interesting and theres rewards for killing mobs so if you like farming you still get rewards for doing so :D

annnddd it looks visually stunning :D esp with the high rez packs on running at 1920x1200

There's a lot of elements from wow/eq thrown in, mixed up with some good old middle earth lore, and some stunning graphics.

Game is well good if u ask me, wont beat WoW just because WoW is....well "in control" of the MMO scene, but its still a bloody good game our LOTR - will do me, especially for the price of a fiver a month - untill Warhammer comes out, then all my spare time will go into supporting the chaos gods :)

Well after managing to download the client last night, I managed to have a go at 4.30 this morning.

The game plays like Guild Wars from what I seen before going to bed.

seems to be getting mixed reviews, wouldn't mind giving it a try if anyone wants to throw me a trial key <3

otherwise, what is it actually like, i hear it's more RPG orientated than others but also heard that this is also why it's not as fun (for the record if you compare it to WoW i'm going to ignore you as i couldn't give a toss how good it is compared to WoW) as above said it plays like guild wars is this the case? cheers

I wouldn't say it plays more like GW, it does play more like wow and looks more like EQ2 *shrug*
You'll get into the game quickly having played wow though, and I guess it depends on whether you go all gooey at the thought of receiving a few quests from Gandalf/Aragorn.

Im having horrendous problems with Tiscali playing this game, characters getting stuck 3/4 times a night due to Tiscalis traffic shaping.

So I need a new ISP - Are you all gunning along quite fine with Multiplay?

I saw the words "Traffic shaping" in the FAQ & my arse went sqeak.

By the way that Gleeb is an incredibly loud & smelly Dwarf - "its the Dwarves who go swimmin after little hairy women!"

I'm not on MPUK isp, and I don't speak for them, but from what I understand the traffic shaping is aimed to improve gaming (rather than hinder it in Tiscali's case - which I had the misfortune to be on for 3 weeks). The traffic shaping is to reduce bandwidth hoggers (torrent downloaders and so on), but gaming traffic is treated with as a priority.

Oh if you do switch off Tiscali, when you use your mac code I would phone them up and confirm that they have cancelled your account (get them to send you a letter as confirmation). I helped my gf's parents switch off it and they continued to bill for the next month.

I'm with BT and have had no issues at all. Playing with 3 mates on the same network killing all the harcore m0bs wo0t.

Only issues I have is the LOTRO client has a memory leek in vista meaning i have to run it on high insteal of ultra high *sniffle*
