Banned from MPUK servers ?

Hi, Guys

It seems I'm banned from the MPUK UT servers for "breaking the rules". Can you please tell me what rule(s) I broke and in what instance ?

Yes i can tell you why and when . You were Banned for 1 wk for excessive Swearing and abusive talk toward other players on the servers .This has steadily been getting worse over the past week . You have received multi kicks for this in the past week . Now this was a rule at Truff and is still a rule here and you should know better . Seeing as kicks and warnings were having no effect end result was to Ban you . Excessive swearing or abusive talk can and will get you a week or two vacation from servers .Now if you wish to promise that the swearing ends here then i will remove the ban . Just remember next time it will be a Month Ban . Excessive use of the F**K word will not be tolerated here along with any other excessive abusive talk or swearing. So if your ready to promise it will not happen again Ban will be lifted .

Not that my opinion probably counts, but I'll state it nonetheless, that's why discussion platforms exist:
It happened more than once that someone, also including myself, wrote "fock" or whatever, no one on the server cared about it, and then, 5 minutes later, an administrator came back, read up the log and booted the player. So it seemed as the only person who was offended by the comment was someone who actually wasn't even on the server.
So couldn't you just let us playing, as long as nobody complains or calls an !admin? :/ I mean opinions differ on this subject as they differ on every subject, but for me (and probably also some others) a good flame is part of a good game, as a good wine belongs to a good meal. Ok, maybe not part of every game, but UT is not a Barbie clone, but a first person shooter for adults (at least in my country) where the goal is to kill and destroy as much as possible.

To sum it up: It just looks odd to me when someone gets booted for flaming me, although I don't mind being flamed. It's like the rules would state that I *have* to be offended although I'm actually not.

So do you figure we should ignore stuff that happens just because we were not there at the moment . That's not the way it works . It don't matter if it was a min ago or 3 hours ago if it's seen then action may be taken . Also noted your not new to the swearing either and it might catch up to you too if not checked .

How about relaxed rules that let you get away with a bit more after say 2100GMT.

Like in the UK with TV we have a watershed up untill 9pm that minimises swearing sex violence etc while the younger elements of our society are watching.

Obviuosly it might be problematic depending on where in the world players are. But it could be set for the region where most players are . Europe???

I have seen on other servers that when common swear words are used they auto matically get changed in to a non offensive word. If that was implemented then the sweary players would be neutralised and some of the admin work load would be reduced.

yes this mutator is called "Keep It Clean "! used again in the end of Truff.

We have the mutator on the system however decided to chop down the number of mutators we were using as we felt it may improve things lag wise.

There should really be a list of swear worsds your allowed and not allowed to use, sometimes people get booted for saying s***, and other times its ignored.

Its hard to tell whats allowed and what isn't.

Allowing swearing from a certain time of day has its problems admin-wise. As you rightly say Vis players from anywhere in the world can be on and trying to explain that they can only swear after 21:00 gmt/bst would be difficult. Then you'd get the offenders who think they're being sooooo clever saying they had been swearing at 20:55 and what's the difference in 5 minutes, or that their clock must be wrong, etc, etc.

It's best just to leave the swearing out and get on with the game - saves a lot of trouble in the end.

Now if your all so gung ho to use this type of language, and really wish to see it used or be allowed then rent your own server and allow what you want on it . If your going to use vulgar or abusive language you can expect to be kicked . If it continues after the kick you will be removed from the server .Some of you may think this sort of language is cool or makes you look cool . All using this sort of language does is piss other players off and next thing you know you have a verbal war going on on the servers .Don't know about many of you but I sure don't like being told to F off or go F myself being called a Cu*t or pric* or anything like that . These are public servers so the language on them needs to be kept reasonably clean . I'm sure you don't walk in to your mothers homes and use language like that, then again some of you probably might. Just because your typing to a computer screen there are still players with feelings on the other end . Respect the servers and the players using them and servers will be nicer to play on . If you have no respect for the other player it don't say much for how much you respect yourself . Bottom line here is Continued use of VULGAR and ABUSIVE language on the server will get you removed . Now as for what words fall under this label ,well your all supposed to be adults and I'm sure you know which ones . You would not be typing them if you didn't . There will be warnings about them but don't expect to receive a dozen warnings or receive them day after day or 2-3 times a day .

Now that's my opinion on the subject and has been for the past 7 yrs as an Admin . I've seen and heard pretty near all the arguments there are on the matter and no one can tell me that they like seeing that sort of language being used on the servers . WE have many nationalities and male and female players so show some common sense and a little respect toward them .

Not immediately, sorry. You have guessed the reason why you're unable to join;

Info: AkrobatycznyDaniel using same IP as [h]AjDuK_[PL] (163 hits for ip)

AkrobatycznyDaniel has been extremely abusive (specifically sexual themes and racism) and was banned by Batty after persisting despite warnings and a kick from a total of three admins acting independantly. This guy does not deserve to play on our servers.

So what does that mean for you? That this guy is different to [h]AjDuK_[PL] I don't doubt. However - that you are [h]AjDuK_[PL] I am less sure.

Why? Because according to my logs, [h]AjDuK_[PL] has never seen that ban message. AkrobatycznyDaniel has seen it several times on various servers when using various nicks. If [h]AjDuK_[PL] visited a server after AkrobatycznyDaniel had already been banned there he would not have been able to connect in order to see any message - but if he visited first then he would be able to play normally. (We don't use just the IP to identify people)

Well, I can't prove or disprove what you say - but all the admin here have a responsibility to protect the players from the extremely abusive - I'm sure you understand that. Batty has not banned your IP, only the copy of UT associated with the abuse - but each time he tries, he gets your IP banned on that server until such time the server's restarted. Of course - if we get another copy of UT on that IP associated with abuse then we'll have to ban the IP globally and whoever's behind it.

If you are who you say you are, then it's not fair to you as your only crime is to share a building with a complete idiot, and I'm sorry that he's caused you this trouble. Unfortunately we cannot technically change the situation and continue to protect our players from his abuse.

Hey your entitled to your opinion pal. Most importantly what you need to remember is these are our servers our rules and we allow you to use them provideing you respect our rules and policies . Now if your not comfortable with these rules or policies then i suggest you either find another server or start your own . Whatever path you choose best of luck with it but if you play here I'm afraid it's our way or the highway .

Unblock this blocked IP though on test, I promise that abuse will never repeat.
However if something will be wrong you can block them again this time lifelong.

AkrobatycznyDaniel: you had been warned by at least 3 different admins about your language, and kicked several times before I felt the only course left was to ban you from all servers - not the IP.

However - you have now made it so that none of your friends can play here either which is unfair to them but unavoidable as you try to join various servers and get the IP banned - and your friends along with you.

The IP will be unblocked - you must not try to join any MPUK servers for the next 2 weeks .... that way your friends will be able to play but you will still be excluded.

If any other players on that IP abuse anyone in that time the IP will be banned from all servers indefinitely.

On 18th March I will remove your ban if there has been no abuse in the meantime. However - when you return you will be closely monitored and any similar indiscretion from you will lead to the ban being reinstated.

So - AkrobatycznyDaniel - do not attempt to join any MPUK server until your ban has been removed on March 18th otherwise you will be responsible for the IP being banned.

[h]ajduk_PL - you will be free to rejoin and enjoy the servers on the understanding that you abide by the rules - have fun.

I wanted still to explain something, if I knew that separating me from the server is caused my statements, I will be stopped doing this immediately. Internet in my hostel is so bad sometimes, then every moment the internet fall and disconect me from the server automatically. Then usually I refresh the list of servers as much as I will be able to connect and play.
So it was and this time. I didn't know that I was kicked everytime for vulgar texts. Nobody warned me what's the matter and what this threatens. I found out just from [h]ajduk_PL when I was banned.

I am become addicted from the game in UT. I love to play on your servers because they are the best!
Can I please some appeasement my punishment?
