looks like NTL to me, so glad I don't have cable anymore.
Great for downloading, utter ****e for anything sensitive to latency.

Agreed
I try to use NTL for high bandwidth stuff and ADSL BT connection for gaming.
Its not all NTL's problem Bt gets effected as well but to a lesser degree.
The whole net is becomming saturated :angryfire :-/

That trace looks fine to me tbh. High responses part way along the route aren't a real problem, most likely the router just deprioritising ICMP.

Thanks for the tidy up Say_ten.
I watched the mtr while playing UT in a window. The ping spikes seemed to happen at the same time as my game laaged so i thought they were the reason.
Basic networking i can do but when it gets into the outside world ??? well idon't know.
Everyone in the server was getting lag at the same time (or were agreeing with me)so that rules out NTL nearest me. So maybe the 200ms spikes nearer Clanbase might be significant.
Or Not

Is it possible for Multiplay to do a reverse ping trace to someone who is getting issues. Sort of pop in to #mpikunreal and the an admin can put his super hero cape on and can swing in to action?? It might reveal something.

Can anyone please tell me what the command Visine is using there is called? I totally forgot the name....
I sometimes get ping rates that are unstable and also way too high than it normally is. Somehow it seems this has been occuring more frequently now.
It seems that ping-times are too slow on servers outside sweden only (not only multiplay), so I want to try and complain to my ISP, even though I think that they would just disregard my problem, as they have done before :(
not sure what to do really...

The one Visine is running there is from a program called WinMTR (Linux has mtr)
