'lo all,
Great to see the RTS genre represented at I30 with another big tournament, with what is arguably the best RTS game available at the moment.
To compete in the Supreme Commander competition I need to find a partner, and not just any partner, someone who matches my own stupidly strong competitive streak :)
You guys, I know, have played a few games together and may already know who you want to team up with, but here's some information about myself and I'll leave it up to you.
History of 'Atos'
I am 26 years old, graduated from Uni with a politics degree several years ago, into all sorts, including most sports (doing a half marathon in Reading on Sunday). More to the point though I have been playing RTS games competitively since 2000....well, a lot sooner then that really, but it was in 2000 that I went to my first competitive event, the World Cyber Games in South Korea. Since that moment I have more or less always been playing RTS games with a view to serious competition. Age of Empires, C&C, Starcraft, Blitzkrieg, Empire Earth, Dawn of War, American Conquest, etc etc you name it, i'll most likely have played it. Trips to France, Germany, America and Singapore followed for some of these titles, with various domestic events as well.
I got into the SC beta and have been actively playing the full game since its release, and aside from the C&C3 demo these have been the only two games I have been playing.
Atos's pitch
I am no stranger to competitive gaming and anything I enter I do so with a view to win, and would like to find someone else who does not intend to settle for anything other then 1st place in this SC competition. (hell, with that 1st prize on offer who would be happy with 2nd????) :)
Unfortunately I am currently unemployed, and they say a silver lining can always be found, and for me that is the ability to put a lot of time into preparing for this competition. I am signed up with a long term playing partner for the C&C3 competition (he never got into SC though), so there will be moments where I can't concentrate fully on SC during I30, but going back to my unemployed status, I won't be going into the event half baked and intend to lay the foundations for success well before stepping onto Newbury racecourse.
Starting to waffle now so let me finish with...if you like the sound of what I am about get in contact. I'm more then happy to play some 1 Vs 1 games against people so you'll know how competent a partner you'll be getting.
Hope I haven't come across as an arse with my post :smile-l:
