avoid the Logitech QuickCam, as the image quality is pants.
But the Creative Webcam 3 is rather good.
Shame I don't have my webcam page up :(

The creative web cam is quite good, one of my friends has his computer room webcamed and available over the net, however being a true lover of techno toys he has it set up so when someone logs into the camera it turns the light on!
When the lights go up halfway through a game of CS it does a realy good job of distracting him!

I want one for my rabbit but have to find a water proof, wireless web cam. Having not looked probably lowers my chances.... :)
But it would kewl I could check on him....... and then take it down after a week and use it to check who is at the door so I don't need to open the door when whiteknight turns up.... hey he has his own key! :D

I still just use my funky infra-red (kinda) security camera that i got for a tenner. Best thing is i found it it some magazine on sale for £140 new!!
I think i got a good deal :) Only thing is its only black and white, but is it quite fun cos the cable is like 30m long so you can put it quite a way away from the pc.

Who wants to watch a damn rabbit in a cage all day on the internet???? All they do is eat and sleep...man that would be boring!......but...it could be quite cool if you tortured it. Maybe stuck pins in its eyes or sommat :)))

I saw a thing once. A friend told meh to go to this webbsite. He had a web cam in his house. Went to the site then a sec. later the cam began loading. Under neath it said hot pussy.
When it started, there was a CAT SITTIN near a fire. I couldn't stop laughing.

I have a LogiTech QuickCam, as it was scanadlously cheap (about £20) and it does me just fine and can be used for webmeetings etc etc.
If you want to see what kind of image quality you get, you can see most of the images I've taken here (http://www.tfc-central.co.uk/strychnine/images/nudewebcam/)

I've got a little Philips webcam sitting on my desk here, not over impressed with the quality of the still shots it can take cause it only goes up to 320x240 but for video conferencing it seems to work rather nicely, at least when strych's proxy gets enough skillz to realise its connected to anything ;)

Those web cam things...
I got a phillips one about a year ago and was really impressed with it. BGH's right about the still shots, they aren't great but videoconferencing's excellent.
Sounds slightly strange perhaps, but there is a lego webcam worth looking at. It comes with this excellent software that will let you do all the normal things like videoconference and take stills, but also lets you make animations and videos made of x frames per minute, (so you can watch a flower opening quickly etc) One other thing is that it will also act as a security camera and will video anyone moving about near your pc, so you can see who exactly has been stealing your pringles at i8 while you went to the bar to get a round in. :D
Long Room rows N and O Beware, Big skunksolBruva is watching j00!
