edit: according to an email quoted in this (http://forums.gaspowered.com/viewtopic.php?t=157) thread, people with the foreign maps should get another posted to them in the queen's english

Yeah, manufacturing error.

If you got your copy from Game, go back with your receipt and get a new map, our store at least got some replacement maps today.

The fix for it is simply go into Game and ask for a replacement tech tree map. Doesn't matter where you bought it from just go in and ask. They have HUGE stacks of them printed out.

Or just... play the game Tech tree map almost irrelevant, it's pretty self explanatory once in game :)
