May I recomend visiting www.languide.co.uk [edit: or something like that, obviously the wrong address, if I find it I'll post it], the are planning to have articles on this very thing, and if there isn't one already then may you can contribute to the wider community by writing what you have discovered.
On a small scale the UK Everglide people are always happy to send a mouse mat or two and some goodies if you register an event on their www.lanregister.co.uk , and it's a good place to get seen.

Also you may find it harder to get sponsorship for the first few until you build up a reputation and can demonstrate your experience to the sponsors.
A bit of time on google searching for Lan Sponsorship Applications would also reveal those companies who have an existing sponsorship programme.
Oh and it's lan-guide :p There's no article already for sponsorship, I'm sure someone said they were going to make one.

... probably me  , or at the very least I was going to contribute what I knew. On a personal note, do not rely on sponsors completely, they are very prone to forgetting what they have promised, and after severeal LlamaLANs where promised support didn't materialise I have decided to promote the one organisation which has never let me down, namely EverGlideUK/Gamerzstuff. Fortunately LlamaLAN is generally attended by people who are not interested in the 'big prize' side of things and so the few promotional items we receive are great as token prizes, and we always make sure that photos of the prizewinners and their prizes are sent back to the sponsors as a courtesy, it's the very least you can do :).
