a person has been harassing me and my clan for a bit now on all of the racing servers

he wouldnt stop and even get other people to join him
is there anything that admins can do?

i read the rules and he has broken:
• Show respect for your fellow players - don't be abusive or use excessive swearing

• Keep the teams balanced, don't swap sides to play with your mates, You will be asked politely to change back three times, after the third attempt, a warning kick will be issued.

this is quite agravating because he usually tries to make the teams unfair leaving me on the losing side and is always mocking me

it happened today on racing server #3, i tried to find the chatlog but i couldnt find the server in the stats

sry i didnt take any ss's or demos cuz i thought it would all be in the chatlog and it turned out i couldnt find it

Hi azn.

I've pulled the chatlog and made it available to the other admins. I know AceofSpades has previously dealt with Minty (who has been banned before) so it's probably better if he handles this one as he'll have the background info.

Hopefully he'll put stick his head up soon!

I'll take a look into the chatlogs, see what's been going on. Check back in a bit to see if this post updates.

Alright, so Flash_ sent me what seems to be... the entire day's chatlog. My eyes are bleeding, thanks a LOT Flash_!

I read through it and found what you were talking about. Minty giving all of MwM a verbal beating because Distructo asked Tumido about a promotion of sorts. He ended up pissing off a goodish chunk of the server, undoubtedly ruined the game for the folks playing... yes, this is in direct violation of server rules. Added to the fact that he was already banned once before - a ban I convinced Oxy to lift after he acquired a new copy of the game - shows that he has offended more than once.

As for BOTTOM_FEEDER, well, he didn't seem to partake in the whole thing to the degree that Minty did. If you ask me, he made himself look like a damned idiot, but I digress.

Oxy has been the main Admin to deal with Minty, since he issued the ban/unban himself. I'll let him decide as to what happens from here on in.

Was he making remarks against gays, or just using gay as an adjective? I tend to ignore it when people say "That's gay," but yeah, provide us with a rough time estimate so we can narrow down the log. You'd be amazed at how much chatting goes on in a day, :D

To be fair, UT is no worse than other online games, it just shows a bit more at Multiplay as we have an active online public server community for UT wheras other games here tend to be more clanserver orientated. This sub forum is specifically aimed at complaints and people tend to only come here when theres problems. It's very rare we would get a player coming on to post about what a good game hes just had, yet we know 99% of the games on the publics are played in a fun enjoyable spirit. This is the 1% you see here and not the community as a whole.

Anyhow, we've looked over the chatlogs and didn't find anything that really elevated beyond your average spat. Minty didn't do anything explicitely bannable, he simply gave you guys crap about (MwM)'s promotion process.

As for the anti-gay anti-german claims, I couldn't personally find anything pertaining to either. I'm going to assume that he called somebody gay at some point, no big stink to be had there.

All in all, I'm fairly sure none of us were able to find anything that warranted more than a warning. Players give other players crap. Hell, I give my own fair share every now and again. If push comes to shove and you're tired of listening to somebody, put their chat on ignore until you can get a hold of one of us. That way you're not fueling the fire by replying and the aggressor doesn't have a reason to keep at it.

If you have any other problems, feel free to let us know. If we're unavailable, take screenshots of whatever is necessary. Although we're able to search the chatlogs... well, it involves searching about 100+ pages of chat if we don't have a timestamp. Have mercy!

I would really love to close this thread, but I'm merely an admin of the game. The forums aren't my domain, sorry.

As I see it, the issue is pretty much resolved. Just some personal issues betwixt Azn and Minty which can be settled in private. Can we close this?
