Recently added to our UT99/GOTY servers as a neccessary evil, apparently has been causing some connection problems with a few players.

Assuming you *aren't* using any cheats, you can try the following to get it working. (Linux/Mac users should go straight through - this applies only to Windows)

1. Close down UT.
2. Point Windows Explorer to your UT's .\System directory.
3. Move, delete or rename all files beginning with UTDC
4. Restart UT and Connect.

You will be disconnected and a box pop up asking you if you wish to install UTDC. (Yes, obviously). UT will then close down.

On restarting UT, you should be able to connect straight through.

Another suggestion is to download the files and add them to your UT\System directory yourself. If you want to do this, they're here.

Hope this helps anyone having problems.

Well I had to use an old back up of UT system files . I then let the server reload everything that i needed this was the only thing that would work for me . Believe me i tried everything else with no success. Manual install of UTDC , Removing all UTDC files and reloading from server never helped, had to use the old system files . Must have been something in there causing a conflict .

The all try to do the same thing - prevent cheating. Each has a different approach. Each on its own isn't enough, but together they provide reasonable protection.

There's also some non client-side protection that we don't want to talk about too much and most importantly, admins who respond to !admin commands to verify accusations of aimbot usage and other cheating and lameness - they're the most reliable :)

Roger that.

I was just wondering because to run a server on a certain league you needed all 3 anti cheats installed on the server. Now I see - thanks Flash_ahhh_ahhhh.:spin2:
