Mission:
Worlds Collide
Mission briefing
Yes I have some work for you. Although the Cartel traditionally has a firm grip over the criminal culture inside our fair system of Isendeldik, the Sansha's Nation has been poking its ugly nose in here as of late. Which is perfectly fine with us, watching the two outlawed organizations duke it out is one of my favorite pasttimes. And hopefully it will give both of their hides a good bruising, that could only work in our favor.
Now on to the bad news. An Interbus ship on a business trip to Isendeldik, in collaberation with Republic Fleet, got caught inside one of the pirate warzones. The ship was damaged beyond repair and can neither warp out nor navigate away from its dire position. Your task is to fly into the deadspace area and rescue the crew of the ship. Please retrieve them before more harm is done, they're already scared out of their minds. We really hope this won't damage our relationship with Interbus ... the faster you get this done the better.
Oh and before you leave I'd like to give you a word of advice. When you venture into this particular deadspace area, the warpgates are not
locked. This might give you the chance of avoiding most of the conflict if you wish. And I'm told only relatively small ships can activate the
first gate. Good luck.

Overview and Objectives
The following objectives must be completed to finish the mission:
Bring Item Objective
Acquire these goods:
Objective
Rescue the stranded crewmembers from the damaged ship in the third room of this deadspace complex [it will appear in your overview with the bracket of a spawn container]. You will need to clear the pirates roaming near the ship to access it. The acceleration gates are not locked, hence clearing the pirates in the first two rooms is not required.
Ok what are rooms ? Are they what the stargates take you to within a system ?
cheers

Ok...
Most deadspace complex`s are generally arranged into "rooms" seperated by acceleration gates.
In the case of this particular mission you have 4 seperate rooms. in a sort of diamond configuration.
Faction 1 Room
/ \
Main Room Target Room -> Back to Main room
\ /
Faction 2 Room
Basically when you warp into the deadspace complex, you arrive in the "main room"
This room has 2 gates both guarded by a load of pirates of that respective faction. One of the gates is easier than the other. Afaik i think the right hand gate (next to the big electric gas cloud) is the easier one.
Edit: on closer inspection... its the other one... The left hand gate with the dust cloud. Thats the easy one.
Choose one of the gates, go through it. If you end up in a room that has a half destroyed space station in it (as opposed to the one that just has asteroids) then you chose the hard room and its probably best to warp out and try again.
Now, once you are in a "faction room"... "RUN LIKE F*CK TO THE NEXT GATE"
Seriously. The chances of being able to hold your own in a frigate against all the pirates in the faction rooms are slim. Just fly (afterburners or MWDs are handy here) as fast as you can to the next gate (dont worry about taking some damage) and jump to the target room.
Feel free to take out any pirates you can while you run, but dont attack unless they attack first. If you ignore them, sometimes they wont chase you.
Once you are in the "target room" you will see a load of pirates guarding the damaged ship.
Best practice is to fly in the opposite direction while shooting back at the pirates. This should draw some of them after you, but not all of them. Thus enabling you to pick them off one at a time rather than facing a huge army of them.
Once you have picked off all the pirates, go to the damaged ship, and pick up the stranded crewmembers. Once you have them i would sugest digging through the wreckage for loot. Then warp on back to the station to collection your reward.

One word of note, something that just came in with the latest patch.
When looking for loot in the wrecks look at the symbol that represents the wreck.
If the little "down arrow" icon is filled in white, that means there is something worth collecting. If its a hollow upside-down triangle, then theres nothing to pick up so dont bother looking.
This can save a lot of time after a large battle as you only need to open the wrecks that have useful items in.

You cant.
This misson wont let a criuser through the accelerator gate
You HAVE to do it in a frigate, destroyer, covert ops, or assault ship.
The last 2 will take approx 45-50 days to train from a basic Minimatar start
A destroyer will take about an hour, depending on your skill set, however they may not be much better than a frigate.

But you can take a gang of friends with other frigates into a mission, can't you? Get some multiple targetting going on or some support modules in operation to help tanking.

Well i managed to pull it off in a Merlin kitted out with missiles and 150mm rails. Ranged attacks ftw.

Kestral. 4x standard. 2x Ballistic Control Systems
Whatever you can fit in the mids.
Best frig ever and ill 1v1 anyone who dissagrees :)

Erm, apparently if you fit more than 1 BCS you get penalized for it.
Semajal
14th December 2006, 16:04
You get penalised (ie 2nd one doesnt give as big a boost) but it still makes a difference. Example -
TII cruise basic refire with no skills = 17.60 seconds
TII cruise refire on navy raven with skills = 9.29 seconds
(with 25% bonus from the ship, 15% bonus from rapid launch 5, 8% bonus from Cruise missile spec 5, 10% bonus from missile launcher operation 5)
TII cruise launcher with one BCU refire = 8.31
TII cruise launcher with two BCU refire = 7.56
TII cruise launcher with three BCU refire = 7.10
So you see how it works from the basic rate. Same applies to all mods that have the penalty system.
With a 7.1 refire i can output approx 25,000 damage per min.

oh rite... nice

before they added stacking penalties a fave ship was a gankageddon. Armageddon fitted with megapulse and all the lows as Heatsink IIs or whatever was available. It would beat pretty much anything else out there. I have a more up to date version, using TII megapulse and a mix of damage/tracking mods. 7 guns refire of 3.25 seconds and i get wreckings of 1100 damage :) Stripped a battlecruisers shield in 2 volleys.

Stop befuddling people with highend ship setups and figures that are currently out of their frame of reference :P

I just got issued this mission twice in a row.... grr..
Its not that hard now ive done it a couple of times, but i still cant tackle the Pithi room... you get dropped right in the middle of a load of ships. Most of them with missiles or rockets, and you just get pwned before you can get out of the way.

I nearly got wooned first time, but second time I tried the left hand gate, much easier. I'm flying a merlin. Currently 2x missiles and 2x rails, but I'm thinking of going 1/3.

First time round this mission claimed two rifters from me.
With my current tanking build, it really wasnt hard.
The Sansha base (or something) still take a bit of hit and running though.
