Some of these can be confusing I think.

The boxing for example, appears very hard but i've actually got quite good at it. At first I was furiously moving my arms back and forth and this was working for a while. On the harder enemies however this stops working and you have to adopt a slower, more rhytmic approach whilst blocking abd dodging more.

Bowling's most important trick is that the final position of the remote is essential. I always hold it there until my ball is 1/3 down the lane to avoid any "follow through" and the ball going off course.

Golf I am actually pro at :p Main thing for me is just to know distances and play cleverly with where you're hitting it. Adopting a proper golf swing works wonders.

Tennis I'm not so good at, any tips appreciated!

Baseball - it does vertical movement too - not just horizontal, so swing out and up to knock it out of the park.

Anyone got any more tips?

Anyone managed to pitch anything other than a Fastball yet?

lol boff RTFM :P

Holding A does a curveball, holding b does a screwball (opposite curve to a curveball and holding both does a splitter.

Still haven't hit a home run yet :(

Ahh, ta. I was meaning to RTFM but never bothered. I was intrigued by the way that the Dpad makes it rumble if you're pitching. I couldn't work out what it was doing in the game though. I did manage to hit a home run though, took a while :)

The little rumbles you have noticed are the number of "notch's" left and right, or closer or futher away from the batter.

Does anyone know if the hook and slice on wii golf is just random, or does it have any correlation to your swing?

I'm pretty sure it's random, but the maximum amount of hook and slice is definitely related to how much you went over power. I really like the markers on the power bar reflected on screen and on the map, it's an elegant solution compared to the usual club maximum distance calculations. The golf is so close to being a full game in itself. I'm really looking forward to a proper golf game which accurately simulates hook and slice based on your swing, and has a decent number of courses.

The other thing I think would be really good (after playing the baseball) is cricket. I hate cricket in general, but having the bat directly controlled by the controller, and full-on overarm bowling could be really fun.

As far as I can tell it's random and as phil said, based upon how much you went over.

The red bar wobbles left and right until it gets to the power you hit it at - getting more and more pronounced the more over the limit you are.

So if you are only a mm over you'll still be pretty much ok - go a couple of bars over and you'll find your bar curving wildly one way - and your ball doing the same!

You can ofc get lucky and the bar could reach your power close to the middle, i've had a few "red" shots that have actually been okay.

It's just luck - but the more you mess up the more likely you are to be in toruble, and the more in toruble you are.

Might be worth looking at Super Swing Golf:

Some trailers and articles about it there. The original articles raved about its potential, but the Japanese final version doesn't get the glowing report I had hoped for. The IGN people still thought it was good though, and an average reader score of around 7.5 can't be bad.

Taken from another forum

In Wii Sports there are many different tricks.

Different Tennis Court: When the warning sign pops up before you start a game hold down the 2 button until you come to the screen where it tells you how many matches you wan to play.

Super Serve in Tennis: When you are serving, when the ball goes to the top, hit it and you will get a super serve. (Takes practice)

Pitch Underhand in Baseball: When you are pitching, press the 2 button to throw underhand. Press 1 to change back to overhand.

91 Pin Strike: In Power Bowling you can get a 91 pin strike. On the last round go to turn mode and tap right twice on the D-pad. Then go to move mode and move all the way to the right. Then thro the ball upwards s it goes up on the rim and goes straight across the rim and will hit a red button causing all the pins to fall down. (Requires lots of practice)

Different Color Bowling Ball: Like the tennis when the warining sign pops up hold down a button to change the color of your ball. On the D-pad: Up is Blue, Left is Red, Down is Green, Right is Gold.

Enjoy!
