Hi,

Sometimes this is happening every 5 mins! On the router when this happens it reports a LCP Error but its happening all the frigging time, so much that i cant use my connection for ****.

Im not sure how long this has been going on because ive been at uni for the past 2 months but i do know its been happening since last night when i got back.

On another note, im on the 2mb connection (not ADSL2 IP MAX crap) and my router reports

DownStream Connection Speed 8032 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 448 kbps

Why would it show this?

Looks like you are on IPMAX to me.

Hi Lemonshoes,

Join #mpukhosting on Quakenet and one of the Support Staff will be able to help you out. If you do not have IRC then use the Live Support Program (http://clanservers.multiplay.co.uk/?p=/cgi-bin/irc/irc.cgi) But remember the Multiplay DSL channel is #mpdsl

i had a similar thing on my old isp. even though your maximum download rate is 2mbit, your adsl connection (the actual line) is at "up to 8mbit", on my line it would not stabilise (it kept dropping). when i migrated i asked mpukdsl to downgrade my line to 2mbit and it's been rock stable ever since.

It does sound like you're line has been incorrectly provissioned by BT as an IPMAX line. During the initial 10 days of an IPMAX service the line may b unstable as the optimal settings for your line are established.

If you can raise a support ticket from our Support Centre, http://support.multiplay.co.uk (same user/pass as you use for the main website) then we can look into this for you.

[Update]

Very impressed with the support i recieved :)

That night/evening on ICQ it was confirmed that i was on the IPMAX, i sent an email asking for the regrade and that very next morning Multiplay had the regrade order in with BT and although it said this could take 7 days with a couple of hours i had the confirmation email that my line would be regraded the next day.

The whole process took at maximum 36 hours.

I havent had any problems with my line since im a 100% happy with Multiplay :roller:
