View Full Version : Game Wii pre-order warning

Told at work today (sadly i work for game, at least until 31st December) that the company are at least 1000 units down on what was promised by supplier, with more potential stock short falls before xmas too! Because of this, your £10 deposit "no longer guarantee's you a unit."

My store is down 6 units for launch day, and this seems to be the case throughout my region (south west)

just a heads up to those with instore game pre-orders - phone up and make sure that yours is going to be there!

Anyone know anywhere that has them in stock at all? Stores or sites etc...

Probably hoping but you never know, I'm suddenly tempted to buy one.

That sucks Baz, be down there at slut am in time for opening and DEMAND one!

I'm heading off to Tesco in a bit to see if my old boss will hold some games back for me.

Id recommend being careful if you preordered from hmv.co.uk they are expecting to be short of stock and state that many will not receive delivery until on or around the 10th Jan

Recently we sent you an email confirming that you would be receiving
order 1822817 for release date on Friday 08/12/06.

This date was based on delivery of all of our launch stock arriving in
time for us to pick, pack and despatch to you. This is a precautionary
email as we are still awaiting part of our allocation from Nintendo to
arrive and subsequently, we won’t be able to ship your order in time
for Friday. We can assure you that a console will be with you within the
week and you should not be concerned if it is a Christmas gift. We will
continue to communicate with you regularly about availability over the
next 72 hours.

Our sincere apologies for this situation, please accept this £10 off
e-voucher for your next order, we understand this doesn’t come close to
the joy of receiving a new console but hope it will go some way to ease
the inconvenience caused from this delay.

£10 off e-voucher code

Once again, please accept our apologies for this situation and thanks
for your understanding.

Please note that obviously your card has not been charged for this
order and won't be until we despatch.

Regards

Worth contacting GAME today, I worked there many moons ago, and preorders are held until miday on the next day and then put on shelves, or at least they used to be.

The 2 GAMEs in Wolverhampton expect to have a few this afternoon, if anyone else actually lives near this god forsaken place.

I'd like to know how Argos did, they were guaranteeing units right up till the end as if Nintendo had promised them unlimited supplies.

Yeah the whole dixons group didnt receive any :p

I think they took the piss a bit with Nintendo so why bother...

Some stores had 1 unit coming in each...pointless when you are nintedo or the distributor to split up units that small.

Got mine at 7:30am on Friday, from Game.

Have to say tho - it appears HMV had the best package deal. You lucky git, Boff :P

Game had no package deals worth doing at all.
