Date: March 2007
Venue: Whitchurch Community Centre, Hampshire
Participants: 35
Price: £25
Website: www.xbox360lan.co.uk
LAN parties have been around for some time, allowing home PC gamers to meet up with their fellow online team mates for the first time to battle it out against other online teams under the same roof.
The events have become even popular amongst PC gamers over the years and now there's a good selection of multiplayer games available on the Xbox 360 this gives console gamers the same experience for the first time ever.
Xbox 360 LAN hits the UK in March 2007 in a small town called Whitchurch in Hampshire. The event will be a 48 hour non-stop gaming event which will consist of gameplay across a local area network (LAN) with tournaments for Halo 2, Call of Duty 3, PGR 3, Rainbow Six Vegas and more. Also everyone taking part in the tournament has the chance to win a cash prize for their team or xbox 360 games in the final.
The price for the event will be £20 per participant and if you do come to the event, you will be required to bring your own xbox and display plus games. Xbox 360 LAN organisers will be organising the network so when you arrive you can just plug-and-play!
More details are on the official website for the event at www.xbox360lan.co.uk and you will be able to register to our community where everyone signed up will be notified 24 hours before everyone else when you are allowed to signup as spaces will be selling fast.

Best thing is the desks are big enough for 32" TVs should you enjoy sittin that close to one ;)
Also we'll have at least one projector for big screen fun.

I would go if the scale was bigger.
If the demand for this 1st lan is high enough, then we will hold another elsewhere in a bigger venue.

Think I'll sticky this.
I'm most definitely interested (and maybe a couple of friends too...maybe). :) What's the deal with screens? Do we bring our own LCD's?
P.S. I live in Colchester so could provide liftage to personages close to me for a split in petrol.

Signed up.
Great work on the webby. I'm definitely interested and as I said before, I'll try and get a couple of other friends up there too (although one of them has a kid on the way so that'll be somewhat of a mission)
Do you have the full address for the venue so I can Multimap it and check the distance/directions etc?

phoenixology

Not sure what the tournaments will be yet, trying to get a nice sponsorship deal from a certain developer/publisher which has at least 3 good multiplayer games for the xbox360.
Cant reveal anything yet as they have only spoke to me once and i need confirmation.
Also hoping for some other sponsors, so if MPUK wanna support us then let me know hehe.

Pre-registration for the event has started...
You can now pre-register for our upcoming Xbox 360 LAN event. Pre-registering will not just get you priority information on when you can pay to confirm your place but 2 lucky people who pre-register will not have to lift another finger to pay as you will get free entry to our first event.

Would be great if this did get off the ground, as I have a 360 now and Whitchurch is, like, ---> there. If Whitchurch is a problem, you thought about using Padworth?

Whitchurch has since become a bit of a problem which is a real shame as the local convieniences and transport links were ideal. Padworth would be a great option and a new venue is now is being taken into consideration.
my vote is padworth as its 10mins from my house!
