View Full Version : Wii - Toys'R'Us warning

Having preordered my Wii at Toys'R'Us and being told "yeah you get a console on launch day just come in and pick what games you want etc."

I have just rung their customer services to be told, someone will ring in a day or two for you to select your value pack. Priced at £270 and £300, no choice this pack or that pack.

No you can't have a console on it's own for £179.99, no you can't pick your games, no you can't pre-order anything else.

Anyone else been told this or are these cretins trying to wind me up personally?

I'm gonna enjoy standing in the store on Friday going f'in mental I think.

Demand to see manager and slap him about etc.

Might get free game you never know!

But I will go home with a Wii.

To be fair Toys R Us have been selling these things as a pack from the get go. They've never had it in place to sell the console solus.

It sucks if you dont want any of those games yeh. But its how Toys R Us have sold consoles at launch for years and it is an extremly good saving. If the games in there are ones you want.

Its done to make sure people buying the consoles actually want them, its a bit over the top with the games I will admit. But you can probably guarntee all the Wiis that are sold on Toys R Us wont end up on ebay.

They did the same thing with the 360 and they will be doing the same thing with the PS3.

Try this at this busy time of year, and a lot of stores will just eject you. There are a lot of people with money to burn who won't 'go f'in mental'.

Then they have just lost £600 of business, and they should instruct their staff in store to tell the truth. I'm not interested in a bundle aimed at 5 year olds, and I don't like being told by someone on the till "oh yeah you can choose the games on launch day" to be told with 1 week to go when it's far to late to go elsewhere I can't.

It's pathetic and just an attempt make sure they get at least £300 from each customer and not £180.

If I have to have a bundle then fine, but at least let me choose the content, rather than someone who obviously has no idea what they are on about.

Shame but fine let some other sap have it.

Like Silk75 said I'm sure they'll have no love loss in your disatisfaction.

Good luck having an easy time finding another console.

Zhard mentions cracked screens himself, I was pointing that out to him. More importantly, about half the posts on that website front page are about cracked screens. Hell there are photos and videos of cracked screens on the front page, is it possible you didn't see them because YOU have a cracked screen?

Is it possible your an idiot?

Yes the website was designed for cracked screens INITIALLY, however the link Grey posted was purely for cracked screens, the one Zhardoum posted was not purely for that, infact the first thing you see is a video about file system errors.

You just cant take people commenting can you.

Did you read Zhards post? He states he has colleagues with cracked screens so I pointed him in the direction of another thread with examples of similar events in case he hadn't seen it. I thought it might interest him if he hadn't seen it already. It was still relevant whether the website he linked had a cracked screen as the top post or not.

Edit: Whoops, sorry, little distracted by MSN there, heh. I've changed this post to just be an explanation of my original intent, no point turning the thread nasty, it's already strayed off topic. Apologies lothlorien7646.

Woohoo got one!!

Firstly I must apologise to Toys'R'Us a small bit, depsite still selling the bundles (note: bundles bad please stop it), they did at the last moment introduce 2 more, so for £229 you could manage to get 1GB SD card, game of choice and Wii console. Surprisingly when I spoke to the staff there they said they had sold pretty much 95% of stock with that pack, really!?!

Anyhoo again I must say very efficient launch and staff, I was there about 2 mins and got all the games etc. I wanted and manager was a very nice man, no rantin or going mental needed!

However selling out of GT Pro, who the hell actually bought that at 39.99?
