So the demo was released - download it here http://www.fileplanet.com/169683/160000/fileinfo/Need-for-Speed-Carbon-Demo
Gives you access to three different cars in the demo, exotic, tuner and muscle. The gameplay isnt too bad, but I would recommend turning off Motion Blur in the options, as it seems to motion blue the entire screen in one go, meaning you can no longer see the road, signs, turns and other kind of important bits.
All together quite dissapointing demo really, the control in the cars is weak. Lets hope the retail gives some tuning options as the three demo cars sure need a tune. Interesting practise to get in for the i29 tourny!

woah! This takes the piss.
All you need is the forwards button tbh. Or uninstall it
c'mon, GTA handles better than this!

Just played it, its rubbish. Most wanted 2 is much more fun. Try the drifting mode the controls are ridiculous. Your supposed to smothly over power the back end of the car through a turn giving just enough power to keep the drift going as you steer into it. Try doing that in the game and you just swerve left to right like a mentalist. ooow well will just have to stick to real life ;) Yay for RWD.

try playing the drift mode like Ridge Racer, no countersteering needed you just accelerate to keep the countering in check, or turn in a little more to keep the drifts going, and it seems the longer you manage to keep a in a drift the moew speed the game 'allows' you to have? feels that way anyway because when you try the good old slow swaying from the 1st 2 undergrounds you get nowhere and cant go above 50-60mph. I get the feeling this demo is rather old, especially in the autosculpt thing, clipping everywhere, most notable on wheels.
must say, i liked the canyon duel, good fun and your screwed if you screw a turn up.
worth a download*, not a purchase
*zomg warez?! sif you wont anyway!

.
Haha, how can you screw up a corner?
Just press a button and you magically turn the corner at any speed!
One thing that annoys me about the canyon duel is that if you over take, the oppisition mysteriously gains about another 200hp and overtakes you again...

ooh, just found this:
http://www.nfsplanet.com/nfsc_demo_files.php?lang=eng
Lets you play with another couple of cars, also removing the intro movies and allows you to play in windowed mode!

cant say i've noticed that, i've managed to win the canyon thing many times in the 1st stage after leading for 10seconds, and having a 150ft+ gap, kinda easy mode with the camaro SS once you work out how it corners
even the 'catch up' in the circuit isnt noticable, altho they tend to hover around the 3-4second mark and dont fall much behind unless you get the crew member to block like a bitch

Download the mod patch, then its quite fun beating the guy in his own car :p:
Interesting, if you set your car as one of the Rival ones, then your own team block you :s

Nice find. I'm still not sure I like the way the cars handle, or this overbright shiny visual effect.

i like the drift mode, you don't really need the brakes too much, just flick it out and check the power to balance it. better than the underground drifting to be honest.

im gonna guess that because the demo is apparantly just a port of the 360 version, all the usual graphics options are not included....because all the cars look like white plastic most of the time for me, bloody shaders

Having played it again its honestly bags and bags of lose.
The graphics are just extremly poor, the few options there to enable.
The controls are just dump.
The races are just standard fair.
The games like I got a scalectrix for christmas and they gave me a hornby train to drive round the track.
For me nothing but utter dissapointment.

ok downloaded and played for 30 mins
the main problem in the view position is locked, normally u can push the car further away from the bottom of the screen making steering easier and giving u better perspective on the road.
drift mode seems way too easy i was clocking in 200k, and having nitrous on drift is just stupid. bring back NFSU2 drift mode comp.
normal racing is ok, takes some getting used to crapy view, maxing out the res and eye candy makes the game slow down and its much easier to play lol.
canyon is just plain irritating...
overall rating 50% fun. if its only a demo of unfinished then thats fine, have to see the full product to be sure.
not as crap as i thought it might be initially. cant say i like the car handling as much as NFSU2... seems like the car isnt actually touching the floor more like floating.
tried it with a wheel and pedals and it was horris, defaulted back to keys much better/

the tournie is going to fastests laps with no real opponents in your actual game i.e. lan? lol
kinda like the PGR3 qualifying for WCG, u all race individually get your fastest lap..
