Max Payne - any good?

Just wondering if it's worth getting... any one played it?

Yeah played it for 2 1/2 hours this morning (meant to dip in for a 15 minute test)

Superb graphically, real sense of style in the gun fights although the grit in the cut scenes is so overdone as to make me laugh at times ;)

Yeah, it's excellent. The MAX FX engine is superb and lives up to the hype.
Gun battles are second to none.

Go out and buy it. Tis worth every penny.

True the game looks amazing (on a decent graphics card) and the gameplay is really fun and intense, the sound...i dunno im having problems with that. However on the down side i found it very VERY short. I completed it in well under 1 day, and since theres no multiplayer it doesnt last too long, you do unlock harder difficulties and im just doing them now but its the same again.

Yeh it was real good. Im about half way through New York bullet now and its quite fun because you only have a certain amount of time for each level its a nice twist. Also i found that when i was doing it again but on "Hard Boiled" it was just as fun as it was the first time because the AI is real good and its a real fun game. :)

what kinda specs doe you recommend?

I've got an Athlon 700 with 512mb memory and a geforce 2 gts 32mb

will it run smoothly on that without having to cut down all the graphical effects?

Max Payne - Good, bit easy, no multiplayer
CS - Very Good, other gamers can be a little whiny

Max Payne+ good pc+ lots of free time = COOL :D

But yea it is a spanalishous game definalty when u shoot some one with a snipe rifile and u get to watch the bullet go from the gun and straight throught the unsuspecting victium.................... uuummmmm very satisfying :D

It's a good game but really they couldn't do multiplay with bullet time else once you have 5 - 10 people in it as it would slow down everyfew seconds.

And then everyone would just jump into bullet time, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Very nice graphics though.
