Hi2uall, it is i! Meshed! etc :icon15:
Im moving house shortly to Maida Vale in London, and il be needing a brand spanking new net connection via ADSL for my lovely new place, and i was wondering wot the score was with MPUK ADSL?
Is all well with the service? Will it continue?
Iv had a hunt round on the MPUK site breifly and read a few posts in this section, but i havent found any info etc on the status or pricing of the ADSL as it currently stands.
If there is still a site for it then can someone post it? I couldnt find it, and neither could google. I might be being thick here, but i just cant find it :P
My good friend Xilly is on MPUK ADSL and he says its great for him, but has heard that it might be closing down due to the cost to MPUK.
Any info would be great, cheers Craig :D

We're doing out best to keep it going so I'd go ahead and order. Some of the heaviest users will be leaving us soon (whether they like it or not). Fed up of a few people ruining it for everyone else.

Hmm, maybe a bit fat banner ad advertising broadband with some special offer will bring in some customers where this space is:

What ping would you get to an MPUK server if you were on 256kbps?

You would not really see much (if any) difference from full bandwidth, even with voice comms involved as well. Gaming actually uses a lot less bandwidth than people think. It is more about the latency of the small UDP packets getting to and from the server that makes all the difference.

How much bandwidth would an average game (I play bf2, but any is fine) take per hour?

You really don't need to worry about the GB cap in relation to gaming use. You could play 24/7 all month, playing the worst game for bandwidth and be chatting constantly on comms and still get nowhere near our 40 GB cap.
The worst game I've seen uses around 60 kbps throughput and adding constant voice comms of supreme quality at 50 kbps, that's 110 kbps throughput, or 13.75 KB/s, or 33.98 GB per month. Of course only 16 hours of that would be peak, so it would actually be 22.66 GB on your cap.
As you can see, gaming really uses nothing. It's just time-sensitive traffic.

Ohhhh just noticed the site has been updated with 'Broadband' on the menus, good move!!!
How about my nice banner eh????
You should use it as a random image scripty thingy with a link attached to it so different banners of offers show up all the time.
