Definitely enjoyed my first few games of this.
It's very similar to the original with (slightly) larger maps and a few UI enhancements (most of which were in tademo :), and the zoom out is such a welcome change from modern RTSs where the only zoom level allows you to see the units nasal hair.
Had a few crashes and some slowdown when there are lots of units around, and it's hard to select units sometimes when you're zoomed out.
Can't say my strategy has got much beyond tier 1 rushing yet, but we'll see if the tier3/4 stuff makes a big difference :)

Aye, tis a very good game, Can't really say that much about it because of the NDA, but its just very good :)

Try checking http://www.fileplanet.com/betas/supcom_key.aspx with the PC you logged on as, it might display it

the only problem is this beta is online play only, but they have a sandbox mode so you can just build and build to see what things do

You can "unlock" the AI for skirmish, a full guide is on the gas powered games forum (If they have not removed it yet).

Is that still valid on 3.0 though? The statements I've seen are that it's been removed from the beta code entirely.

I havent updated to 3.0 for that reason. From what I can tell it has been removed. I may make a second install with the 3.0 patch and see if editing the lua.scd still works.

Yeah, they have removed the Skirmish and Lan from the 3.0 patch.
