Hello u triggerhappy maniacs:icon15:
Some of you know me. I played meanly SLV:asthanos: maps on TRUFF and now on the server of MP. Now it has come to my attention that the Chickenpancakes map is missing. I think it was one of the top-10 most played maps so I would like to have it back.
It seems to have be removed on purpose and i was wandering if there are some more players to be found who want it back?
Catch u all later :nuke24:

The author of the map sent us an email stating we did not have his permission to use it, so we removed it. We could put it back as under the licensing terms of UT any map created is to be made available to everyone to use without charge but we feel that if the author does not want his map used then its his loss and not ours.

Weren't there 2 version of 2CP? The original on TrufF's, with the awesome shreddingness of The Great Eric Johnson providing the soundtrack (and the map was played TO DEATH), then a second one that had a larger upstairs with auto cannons and blocks in front of the main center doors, and 'dualing banjos' playing as the soundtrack? It was called 2Pancakes]RAM[ or something...
Which author didn't want his on?

I doubt the editor of this map asked the original author if he could copy his map, or ask if he can use the music file that came with the second version.
As Neophyte said - his loss, we have plenty of decent map on there and coming soon.

I do consider it a loss  otherwise I would not have started this threat but I will respect the dissision of the MP admin's. As for the other version of the map; this one was made by Ramjet but I do not have knowledge about him asking permission for that. If I would have to make a gues I'd say: probably not.:icon15:

Forgive me on this, but I may just readd it out of arrogance :)
If I had to ask every map authors permission to use a map I would have no time to do anything else given the 100's of custom maps we run on the servers. Whilst I am sorry you feel upset because you were not consulted, I really do think you should take a step back and look at the bigger picture of what we are doing and achieving here. Out of courtesy I removed your map when asked, however if you read the terms and conditions of UT and the Unreal editor package shipped free with the game, you will find we could have easily left the map on rotation with or without your permission. I don't see why you should be treated any differently to the thousands of other map authors. Most authors would be pleased Europes largest gaming server provider was embracing their map, I am quite frankly amazed you feel offended we used it.

I would just like to point out at this point the "see ya (banned)" bit was added by the poster and not multiplay(UK), if we had edited his post there would be a nice "post edited by...." small print along the bottom of it. Just dont want people thinking we like another uk gsp :p

This is quite surprising actually?
An author requesting to have his 5 years old map (the original 2cp) having removed, because he wasn't asked for permission. I've checked the included readme and the only thing reffering to this reads: "You are allowed to commercially exploit this level, i.e. put it on a CD or any other electronic medium that is sold for money.... provided you get permission from Britton Wesley". Assuming Major is Wesley then, or isn't it about this version of the map?
Assuming above is true, I think having this map on a public server can't be considered to be a 'commercially exploit'. So what other indications are there reffering to ask for permission? Meanwhile, 2CP won't be on our publics (= not mpuk).

Yeah, same. Braincheck required? It has not been editted/exploited in anyway just advertised for free.. If I make a map that is upto MPUKs standards then please throw it on as many servers as possible.
:D Thanks.
